Default have a look at the timing marks!!!!!

This is how i took my head off a couple of weeks back, check out the timing marks on the cam pulleys. Weird huh,but it ran perfectly so cant really understand it as this was adjusted correctly when it was set up a few months back.
By the looks of it , its jumped a tooth or 2 by why ?????

You haven't got the cam belt on and the head is off the block, so it doesn't matter, just make sure they line up when it DOES have the belt on and the head is on the block

the cams will always move a bit when there is no belt holding them

the valve springs push the cam lobes. turning it

Thhat is the natural resting point of the cams - when you put the head back on the car, make sure that everything is at TDC and that the cam markings are lined up, all will be good

Be carefull when you time it up again, it is VERY easy to fall into the trap of using the 16 degrees BTDC mark instead of the correct one and it will sound like a diesel when you fire it up
You don't need to ask how I know
