My dads got a Carlton gsi 3000 24v and has blitz me many off times has anyone raced one? I was running 174bhp 205lb/ft in escort rs turbo at the time also have seen him force M5`s over

put it this the M5 driver was not happy specaily when he hit the limiter at 155 and me old man was sitting on his arse

plus the 3000GSI doesn't do 155mph, so i doubt it cruised past the BMW once it hit the limiter

I've been in some chunky GSI's, and i tend to agree, i don't think any of them will come close to an M5.

Yes I do agree but have you ever seen one do more than 160mph, trust me guys when he told me he was buying this one i had a good old laugh, until he took me out in it and was gob smacked! he has been told that it is one of the big ones and a rare motor the bloody thing changes up to top gear at 124mph the powers on, he has had 162mph on M25 and i have witness this if you seen him give him ago

I know it has eight injectors and we recently done a head gasket which was a nightmare cos nothing on it was english as the engine parts was all in germany and he done a hose which cost him 38 quid cos there was only 5 available. also lotus bits here and there

No the six injectors run as normal but when you open the car up it has a duel ram system which throws more air which then users the other two injectors, sorry should of said this at first and no its not the twin turbo monter but its still bloody quick for what i USE to think were slow

thrust me guys i have seen this thing in action not your car for santa pod but your autobahn in which he has taken got the digits to 258kph then they stopped but he could still feel it pushing, over he has had 162mph but has not had the road to keep going

You must need a VERY VERY long road then as most powerful cars will hit high speeds on most M/Ways in this country

My dad had two of these and the none 16v one the mintest one he had which was de-caped did an indicated 155 although it took an extremely long time to get there and there is noway it would have stayed with an m5 unless it was a really old one

vauxhall speedos are not to good at high speed had a sri 130 years ago said i was doing 135 until my mate come past me in his orion 1.6 ghia and i know that was not doing 135

also new - e39 - m5's suffer problems with the engine management side of things, if the m5 in question was running in LOS then i dare say you did beat it as when in LOS they're rubbish.

deffo post some pictures though, this 8 inj. malarky sounds interesting.

Also as said, vauxhall speedo's are lame.
