Default which bailey dump valve for a S2? to stop a arguement!!

i asked for a dump valve in the wanted section and some replyed and said they had one. i asked for a bailey dump valve for a escort S2. i payed for it on sunday 9th i think and after loads of msgs it finally turned up on friday 21st !!!!!!!!!!

when i fitted it the car wont run or start cos of all the air leaking out of the thing. if you cup your hands round it , you can start the car but as soon as you move your hands it cuts out .

now ive emailed the bloke from here and told him and he said its fine . its a DV24 which worked on his cossie ,fiesta turbo and a volvo. he said ask anyone if i dont believe him. so i did . i went to bailey and they said he is right what a dv24 is for but for a escort you need a dv 26. ive emaile him the bailey price list which clearly states the model numbers.

he is now saying i asked for a bailey dump valve and thats what i got. but i didnt. i asked for a S2 bailey dump valve as stated in the wanted ad.

he has now said that it should work anyway and he asked bailey. the only difference is the efi.

now ive asked for my money back 3 times .i aint bothered , i will ebay it and get the right one.

but should the car run with his one on it cos i dont want to sell something that is fooked???

should it run ?

and this aint a name and shame if your reading this mate. i ant going to say who it was i just want to know if im wrong ???

I had a DV24 on my series 1 when i got it and it was fine........

But i did the best thing and sold it......No Dumpvalve is MUCH MUCH better

so why wont this one work ???? do you think the dump valve is knackered?

its not me i got it for a mate. its got a old diaphram style one on it and he loves the whoosh noise !!

24's dont work on erst's , its a 26 youll be needing, twin piston jobbie

seen the same sort of thing when a mate tryd the 24 of my old fez on his scort.

if it defo is a 24 single piston, it wont work on a scort

so it looks that way.

single piston will not work as for the mfi set up.The only d/v that works right on the rs turbo is the twin piston one with the alan bolts on top of d/v

agree, a DV24 is completely un-suitable for an escort RS Turbo.

the guy owes you a refund if thats how he advertised it

DV24 works fine on cars that handle the fuelling based on a map sensor. ERST does the fuelling based on a air-flow-meter, which need ALL intake air to flow through it. Any air entering through the dump valve will not be fuelled for.
