sorry but this probably isnt good news mate.

the renault remote keys are, put simply, KAK

there is a way of manually overiding the immobiliser using the central locking switch, but you need a code that renault dont give up very easily, the missus recently had a problem with the key on her clio which uses a very similar set up and only got the code after kicking up a right royal stink at renault and had to show the V5 as proof of ownership (which is fair enough).

depending on what has gone it could be ~Ł35 for the reciever or Ł100 for the remote key

You may be able to get round it with a second hand remote key and reciever (which I think is near the interior light/rearview mirror) but you'll need both from the same car as they are matched.

If no-one minds me plugging another site you may be better off asking this over on www.renaultsportsclub.com as some of the bods there have a much better knowledge than me

hope this helps.....

Renault are just rubbish tbh mate, i was gonna say the keys are rubbish but it is actually the whole brand thats shit.

Try taking the key apart, the buttons always fall off and need to be re-soldered back to the circuit board, it's a bit fiddly to do but possible.
