£15(assuming that is the cost, cant remember now ) enables members to post(without a restriction on posts per month).
What sold me on membership was the discounts members receive through group buys, i've more than covered the cost of membership.

Its no wonder there are so many non Ford owners on here if they have
to pay to use their own car make sites.
Fooking cheap skates
Although I should add, Ford owning non gold members are ok IMO

MLR Membership is £35 a year and is well worth that with Group Buys, MLR trackdays, advance booking of tickets for events such as Rally Day or TOTB with special parking stand for MLR members, tech data downloads and a whole lot more. The Welcome Pack you get when you become a member is second to none.....
Anyone can post on MLR as a non-member, but they are limited to 20 posts a month but don't get access to Member's forums.
It is an extremely well run forum

Simon this and the MLR are very different sites , but i stand by what i said i would look to charging alot more people here, if you can afford to run/tune an rs you can afford to pay the £20 OR what ever

I think if the MLR is being run as an owners' club rather than just a board like this place, then a membership fee is fair enough. Especially with the benefits etc, although I would always prefer to be able to post somewhere without being a member of the actual club. I can totally understand why they do it though, especially with the recent influx of idiots on here who can't even manage to type in normal English.
If Stu decided to change this place to say, a £10 lifetime membership (regular membership) then I'd pay tbh.

It is horses for courses,
I have a huge amount of respect for Pet and Stu for setting this board up and maybe some of the non Gold member users should put there hand in there pockets, driving 3drs and Escos's etc etc am claiming they have no money the only people they are kidding is them selfs

The MLR is nowhere near as good as it was a few years ago imo, a lot of people have left the board who were the life and soul as it were, a few are still there but very frequently post.
As has been said it is good for the group buys, trackdays and the advice for tuning / maintenance is also very good, far more strict on there than it is on here, but i must say i prefer it on here than there....

I can post on there and have bought bits without being a paid up member. Only thing putting me off paying is the limited benefits I will receive being over here. The owners manual access might sway me though.
Think its 35quid too.

It's commendable that your forums are all free to use by members and non-members alike. However, the MLR provides a more comprehensive service to full members including the benefits mentioned by Redkop & Captain Mike. Full membership also enables access to the restricted forums, most of which can be read but not posted in by non-members and two of which cannot be seen by non-members at all (they're the ones we abuse each other and talk bullshit on). The £35 membership certainly isn't worth it if all you want to do is use the forums, but if you look at everything else it offers then it's fantastic value for money. Junior users generally pay their £35 within 6 months of first accessing the site which I think speaks for itself.
I'm sure I speak for everyone on the MLR when I say that we look forward to seeing you on Sunday at TOTBV. Pop over to our (very swish) stand to say hello (and congratulate us on whupping your asses again ) All the best for Sunday, should be a good one
