Front CV Boot & Labour – Charge?
Hello ya’ll. Getting some work done on the cos (as above) with someone new. Just wanted to check what a rough price would be for this to ensure I don’t get done. Tis on the front of the Escos.

less than an hour
less than an hours labour charge
so if they want more than £30 for it ask why
seriously, i've had new cv's fitted for £90 included parts and labour so i can't see it being LOADS of money to do
just make sure they don't break anything else in the procces though, the bottom pinch bolts can be a nightmare if they've rusted into place

it's as easy as:
car in the air
wheel off
pop the lower ball joint
remove gaitor
split joint/driveshaft (1 circlip)
remove old grease
fit new grease
fit new boot
pop back together
bottom ball joint back in
wheel on
lower car to the ground
20 minutes with air tools if you are in a hurry

personally i'd rather do a passat that anything else, they're well easy when you get the hang of it.
i've got pattern ones on the front of mine and they were £3.50 each. took under a hour to do. although i cheated and undid the arb and the bottom arm away from the sub-frame as i knew the bottom pinch bolt would be a mare so i left it in place.

ICME states 1.1 hours so you work off that.
Cola - seriously , if you're willing to travel, i'll do it cheaper if you're serious.
PM me if you want
