Default Anyone on here on Wanadoo/Orange broadband?

If so, has anyone elses service been down for the past hour or so?

I popped out at 7:30 for half an hour and net was working fine - get back at a few mins past 8 and no net Every page came up with the error page (page cannot be displayed) and I ran a test from my router and it failed on a couple of things and said I wasn't connected to the net

Been like that since 8pm, and only just come back on 2 mins ago....

Just wanna know if it's the ISP, or if it's a problem my end.....

Dojj - you on Orange aswell then?

Lee - weather is fine here, and we generally don't get any internet interruptions anyway.... Every now and again I lose connection, and it's only for (usually) a few mins, half hour max - and in the last 12 months I can only think of maybe less than half a dozen times it's been down...

That said, since it switched from Wanadoo to Orange, it's been worse! I got the letter 2 months ago (I think) saying Wanadoo is becoming Orange - been down twice since then

Thinking of changing ISP....

Thrush see my post,

Ive got the livebox thingy from wanndoo, works fine but sometimes it randomly wont connect and i have to reset the actual box and re type my password and username then it works agian but not today, it wouldnt have any of it

I rang up orange and they said they have had alot of calls about this today but it sounded like a problem with my line he said and that they would do a line test and to ring back in 2 hrs, i wasnt having any of that so i installed my old usb adsl modem and its working perfectly now

GTi - I use a standalone modem/router all-in-one thingy and my PC's connect via ethernet cable to it.... I've not had a prob with it before, like this anyway (has randomly dropped ehternet ports before now, but when it does that, the internet still works, but the PC's show up as not connected to the router) and not had to re-enter username and password....

I think this must have been a DNS problem or something with Orange...

What was odd tho was that my router had the ADSL light lit up the whole time - but the data light wasn't flashing as normal.....

yup
wanadoo before that
freeserve before that

to be honest, i've not had any noticable problems other than twice where they have had their main servers go down
they have always gone down in the late evenings and theyv'e been up and running for the next morning so i can't say it's been a bad service over the past 8 years or so

their 30g downoad limit is a bit poo thogh

to be honest mate, they told me about the last time i was supposed to be offline and it dind't happen to go off line at the time
it went offline for a few hours the other night but other than that it's a great track record for having almost constant internet connection for the past 8 years ain't it

Just spoke with the olds. It is fine for them although they are cancelling in the coming weeks for talk talk. Apparently Orange were a little reluctant to give them the code required by Talk Talk to transfer the service. They wouldnt provide the code over the phone and then took a week to email it.
