Default Fuel Pump quite noisy

I noticed today that my puel pump seemed to be really buzzing away, louder than normal at idle while the turbo cooled. The filter is about 4 months old, plenty of fuel .....car running well

Is this a sign of imminent failure or just something to do with hot weather?

Hot weather thinning the fuel making the pump noisy? It's possible.

Easy to change if it does decide to pack up? Or a bit of a nasty job?

Not that hard at all, you just need some clamps for the fuel line hose. Should take no more than 30mins

Steve.

Cheers, I'm not sure if it's on the way out - just noticed it was very loud yesterday - just buzzing - twas very hot though so maybe it was just the weather.

I was worried about mine as it was doing the same. Brand new 044 new filter etc but was always on a hot day after a long run. no loss of fuel pressure.

Glad it sounds as if its just the weather

I noticed this morning that the pump volume seems to be back to it's normal volume, even after a good run. Still it was about 16 degrees cooler ambient temp this morning so perhaps they do get a bit noisier when it's really hot.
I suppose Wednesday afternoon was a fairly extreme temp esp at about 4pm when I was driving it.
