But for those of us working in direct sun, with it beating down on our heads and backs, then temps taken in the sun are the "proper" temps

For those who work in their offices with 18degree's aircon - well you can all fook off

Oh, and it's STILL 32c in my room as I type this
The windows been open since 6:30pm, door open, and front door open too (to create that "breeze through" you get) with the fan on, and it's only dropped 4 deg in 5hrs
Gonna be another fucking hot minght then - when I close the window and door and it beings to heat up again

Taking temp in the shade is to calculate the AMBIENT temp - which is what the air temp actually is. Thats the real temp, and not an exaggerated(sp) reading you will get in the sun.
Of course, at work we always use sun readings since we mostly work outside under the blazing sun - so when we complain to the boss about the heat, we are complaining about the near 50deg heat, not the 35 deg heat

Two of our fitters did that this morning
It was about 46/47 in the sun yesterday, and today it was pushing 50 - two of the cheeky fookers called in sick, saying they had sunstroke
Both were talking bollocks as we asked em their symptoms and neither got sunstroke symptoms right, but they said they weren't coming back in to work in this heat
Pussies
I'm a fat fooker and sweat like a priest in a brothel when workng in the sun but if I can do it, anyone can
