Ive heard that the bonnet wont close without some type of bulge or vent because of the timing chain cover. bit more info before you dent the bonnet!!

the engine won't physically fit under the bonet because it's too wide at the top

the easiest way to find out what you need to bend is to get hold of a sierra dohc rocker cover, find out how tall the engine is and then put it into place
you'll see that the exhaust cam sprocket bit of the cover will foul the bonnet so you need to either cut a hole in it or bent it out by about an inch

there is a guy who's done it in the xroc so that might be a starting piint

they'll be lifting the worng end of the bonnet
you need to up the slam panel by about 5 inches to get the engine in and closed proplery

Wasnt there a green Mk2 Orion from Germany in FastFord a few yrs back with an RS2000 lump in it?

Had standard bonnet and seemingly no major mods to make it fit.
