hang on a minute
is that where the flame traps breathes from, if so,
i'm trying to figure a way of fitting my breather without drilling the rocker cover and having to mod the sump

Ginge
breath it out of the hole by the engine mount threads Then do the same the other side
My sump has been welded to a high capacity one so it returns differently but am pretty sure you can return it to the one on the sump shown in your pic.
think (from memory ) that that pipe is "S" shaped & sits under the oil level

All sorted?
couldnt be arsed to remove the inlet, so removed the flame trap etc, and drilled the rocker cover.
managed to move the standard kidney box out a little, and get the breather pipe on that.
breathes from cam cover, kidney and ruturns under the turbo.
seems to work quite well.

Refurbished rocker cover
replaced boost and coolant hoses (with roose ones)
fitted mirror image breather kit.
repared power steering leak
changed oil and plugs
cleaned entire engine from top to bottom (steam cleaned underneath)
drained, cleaned and flushed coolant system
all done in time for ford fair
now all that is left is clean and polish, and its booked in @ SCC on sat for someone to beat the rear arches so the coilovers stop catching (i wont be watching )

the pipe marked as no 2 is std on 4x4's, the hole at 1 is where the std breather goes and it return the oil to the sump via no 2.
so you remove the std breather completely, the fit one pipe to one port of your new bretaher on this side of the engine, the other port comes from the blank plug un the other side of the block the knock sensor has a small bolt folding the wire inplace as std) then your oil return goes to 2 back to the sump, the large vent on your brather then either vents to atmosphere or to a catch pot....
like so...
