you need editing software,...which i have got,...tell me the song, ill download it, make it smaller, then send via text...good enough for you dog breath

Try making it varable rate or just a lower bit rate or there is a program called mp3 splitter that lets you cut sections out if what you want is to make a ringtone. Can't remember where I got the program though now.

Variable bit rate tracks are generally higher in file size, due to being able to reach peak bit rates, aswell as lower ones....
Two ways to make an mp3 filesize smaller;
1) shorten the track - cut it up. This is wise espescially if you are putting it on a phone as a ringtone - why put a 5min song on there when you only need 30secs for the ring tone?
2) lower the bit rate. EG: song is encoded at 192kbps - re-encode it at 112kbps... Lower bit rate = less "info" in the track = less info in the file = lower file size
