Default Latest on my car regarding Jamsport!

Righhhht,

Latest is that I have got the car back...Jamie sorted out some pistons, the bearings, crank and stuff and I got it back!

Only things that are worrying me is that the bleed valve is now removed which means it is running like 10psi ( Was on 15psi when setup ) and the setup is what I went for originally! Which worries me because about 400 quid later and I am back to where I started with an un-setup car!

Just spoken to the chap on reception and he says he thinks I might have to pay for another setup Bit gutted about that as I just wanna sell it without putting any more into it!

Only other issues are that it got a puncture, my road angel disapeared and I am missing a jacking point cover but hopefully Jamie will sort them as he seemed a top fella!

Would still recommend them although it is a bit of a bastard as I just want rid of it but I guess I cant until I have run it in and seen what he can do about fitting the bleed valve to control the boost again!

The End

Sorted out...Big Thanks to Jamie and the other chaps at Jamsport!

He prob didnt put the bleed valve on just incase you decided to give it a turn & fooked the engine not allowing it to run in properly..You would end up back at square one taking it back & there would be now way for him to tell if you had turned it...as it is easy turned back...
Im not sying your that kinda guy i just think that jamie is covering his back & quite rightly so.

Yeah if that is the case then fair play if he is gonna put it back on when it is run up

I wouldnt fook about with it though, it looks easy enough but I do not want any more hassle with it lol

Still waiting on news about my Road Angel and Jacking point cover and another major issue about a massive oil leak that wasnt happening before I took it there

Getting to the stage now where I am now at the £650 since I been there mark and my car is actually in a worse state than when I took it there!

Not read the other thread, but in this one... Well you clearly are, and accusing them of theft as well as far as I am concerned!

No I am not accusing them of theft...I havge spoken to Jamie and he is gonna sort something out as he thinks it will have gone while it was parked outside...not that the actual company stole it?

Porkie you dont know the half of it.....they've fucked his car up, given it him back with a threaded sump, fobbing him off it was cracked when the'y threaded it fitting it and second hand pistons after their 'set up' blew it up and he has his sat nav, jacking cover etc missing.....I cant believe his patience.....i have had nowt but good experiences of Jamsport but something has gone seriously wrong here

If you leave a car at a grage to have work done and it comes back with your sat nav missing, what else is it

I kind of agree with you, it's not really a slagging tho, he's just saying the facts of whats actually happened..if it was a slagging he'd be calling them a bunch of shoddy unproffessional cunts.....I think he's been pretty restrained under the circumstances ( I chat to him on MSN most days ) and to be honest he's very reluctant to lose his rag and blame anyone.......on the other hand I'm really angry about it..i cant believe he's been traeted like this.

All I have done is state the facts!

I have spoken to Jamie about the sump and he has said he thinks they have fitted the sump gasket incorrectly! I am just waiting and I am gonna take it to another garage and say "It has an oil leak, what is wrong with it". Garage will know nothing about jamsport or anything so will be able to give me a fair reason of why I am losing a full load of oil over the space of 2 days!

I wasnt accusing Jamsport of stealing my Road Angel...I just said it was there when I dropped it off (which even the chap there said it was) and when I picked it up it had gone...along with the laser detector. (That is not me saying Jamie stole it for his car, cos I dont think that he did) (Again, I have spoken to Jamie about this and he is gonna sort me out about it, which is fair play)

I am not slagging Jamsport as I have only had my experience....after the car was setup it was running perfectly so I dont doubt how good they are!

I have waited and waited and I think it was setup at the start of May and then the engine gave up about 2 days later so it has been about 2 months now.....I just want my car working and to sell it without having to pay out all the time!

If you think I am being a cunt about it then fair enough!

i think you are showing remarkable restraint

its very easy for people to come on here shouting the mouths off about firms as soon as they suspect something is wrong.

hope this all gets sorted quickly

mate, my cars been somewhere for over 3 years now, and i'm still not worried because i'm that sort of bloke

some people will be shouting the odds and waiting at the doorstep for the garage to open up and have their say, you clearly aren't even though it seems to be a case of things going wrong and the garage in question trying to put things right (even though i would be a bit miffed if they were charging me but thats another story you can tell when everything has been sorted )

from what it reads, jamie is doing what he can to sort the problems out, and, while it may look like he's just after more money, he seems to be big enough about it to fox the problem (no one seems to know whats exactly happened though to make the bleed valve go walkies, or is it because it wasn't clamped up proplery? if thats the case then i'd be looking at the person who was in charge of clamping pipes up and giving them a bit of a talking to)

I don't. As said you are being very restrained.

BUT why say you aren't slagging AND also then put this post up.

Its ONLY purpose is to show people what shite service you have had from Jamsport. Thats slagging in my book.

I am not sayiong you are wrong, or its not justified but just don't try and say you aren't doing something you clearly ARE!

Gotta agree with that. You posted the topic because you wanted everyone to know what a crap service you've had.

You might not come out and say that, and your posts are polite as you like, but its still slagging them off IMO

It was more looking to advice as to where I stand and what my rights are!

dont really know much about engines etc etc so I leave pros to deal with it!

I have just stated the facts...If jamie sorts it all out then I will be the first to say their custom service has come up trumps?

Don think hes slagging them off to be honest , just stating what has happened

On the other hand if he was it would be alot different im sure

That sucks poom and i would have been slagging them off if i had that expierience

Agree about the bleed valve thingy though as long as he sorts you out , but everything else is bollocks IMO

But again os only my opinion

If it were my car i would want it fixed properly (oil leaks too) set up as intended the first time. & the missing stuff replaced as it was in their possesion there for its up to them....

From what i make out of your posts the customer service from the company hasnt been that good even though they built your engine for you..its not right i.e oil leaks n stuff..

But we are all hearing one side of the story there could be more to this in jamsports eyes..

He hasnt came on to justify this..(not calling you a liar)

But as porkie said i kinda think its slagged jamsport a bit..when you said you havent....

But imho i dont think your in the wrong..

So your road angel and jacking points have gone missing whilst in the possesion of Jamsport? Then they are liable, end of story.
And they have put the sump gasket on wrong?

I feel very sorry for you, after all, like you say, you just wanted your car running right to sell and didnt need all this grief. Not good.

I read the original post when you put it up.

I see this thread as a way of showing you are heading towards a diplomatic solution with them so you have not left a potentially tarnished name in the minds of the readers on here. So well done for that.

Plenty of people come on here shouting their mouths off for far less so I think you have shown restraint and as I think Jamsport use the forum so you dont want a forum war affecting the main issue here which is your car.

I dont personally see it as slating and from memory, your other thread wasnt either as you seem very calm generally from this.

Companies using the same forums as the public can reap enormous benefits for the company due to the instantly available target market however it can have adverse effects. So someone seeking an opinion, won't always get the unbiased one they are after.

Hope it gets sorted and make sure you let PF know what the final outcome is.

if you did'nt want to tarnish jamsport Reputation then you should have kept this off the net, because regardless of what you say now, people who have never used jamsport before are going to have second thoughts, yes he paid out for a run of the mill engine but what if it was an engine of a much higher spec engine? could be very costly. i have used jamsport before and i think there works excellent and jamie a very Knowledgeable. but what you have Described, people would say that they are a cowboy outfit which they are Defiantly not.the net can be a very Unforgiving place..

there are always people who have differing onions about the same company
we had one just the other month who was slaging of stu and that came across as a shock

when stu explaied the situation everything eveuntaly sorted itself out, so perhaps once things are sorted and jamie and co give us their side of the story we can get a bit of an idea of whats been happening

for what it's worth, poom seems to have given them a fair amount of praise for trying to sort things out so he's not slagged them off

there are countless posts about naming and shaming, some of which have some alteriour motives, but it all comes down to how you make your posts
a proper slagging is sometimes called for and then you have the poom scenario where he's made public whats been going on and has asked nothing really other than ask why the engine troubles might have been caused
thats not slagging off, thats asking people what the problem is, therefore, going back to jamsport with a possible solutio as to why something went wrong

he seems a bit pissed that he's had to pay out again but there is no acusation of jamsport stealing stuff from his car as there is some sort of arrangment in place to come to a conclusion to that particualr problem

the bottom lne is that everyone is going to look at the post a different way, and it's up to each individual to make up their own minds

Our version of events:

We admitted liability to the initial problem regarding the bleed valve/actuator pipe working loose, upon speak to nick after i stripped the engine i offered him 2 solutions:

1-fit a new discounted engine

2-for nick to pay £200 (as the crank was worn) to cover for cost for the crank to be polished, new rings, new gaskets and bearings to get him back on the road.

Nick chose option 2, he told us he wouldnt have the money till the end of the month, when he wished to collect the car.
At the end of the month the car was ready for collection, however on road test is was noted that there was an oil leak, upon inspection it was suspested to be comming from a possible crack in his sump. When Nick came to collect the car we notified him of this problem, he said that the car was leaking before and he had a new sump to fit the the car, which he would get fitted himself.

Unfortunatly when Nick collected the car it came to his attention that his road angel was missing, whislt the car was in our possession it was kept in the workshop or in a secure compound over night, however due to the car being on a public road during the day it seems tht someone has taken it as an oppertunity to steel nick road angel. We have agreed to replace this and are waiting for the road angel to be delivered. We are also going thru our cctv footage to see when/where the offence took place.

The bleed valve was removed as the engine needed running in, the lack of bleed valve is to remove and temptation for someone to play with the car before it is set up. nick shall be recieving a set up on the car when it is run in, which he shall be recieving free of charge.

Just to note, we are not treating nick any differently to any of our other customer, every car/customer that comes thru our doors gets treated the same when myself and my technitions try and help customers out as much as possible.

No disrespect to nick or anyone else, but if Im not aware of a problem, Im unable to fix it.

Nicks car is booked in on monday for the oil leak and any other problems to be resolved.

I hope this clears up a few things, and i apologise for the essay!!
