Default snapped a stud in the turbo...........

i was fitting my new exhaust last night when i noticed there was some movement between the turbo exhaust housing and the elbow. i unwrapped the heat wrap and one of the studs that holds the elbow to the exhaust had snapped clean off.

has any1 else snapped a stud on the turbo b4??

how did u sort it out. i was thinkin sending it away to a turbo place and getting them to sort it and maybe also strip it and rebuild it with new seals seeing as its off the car

its a stage 3 t3 turbo on a erst manifold

I snapped one off, and I couldn't get the damn thing out. In the end I did need a reconditioned one, so solved that way.

Mine's done this several times.....had to drill out the stud and retap the threads, i've got a scorpion exhaust with no flexi section which i think was part of the cause. However, i've now had the holes drilled out and tapped for m10 studs which seems to have cured it!! Turbo housing's are bloody hard to drill tho, u'll need some good drill bits, i used cobalt bits which flew through!
