Default SORN?

Had my car SORN off the road since last october (RESTORATION), was told by a lad at work that he got a £40 fine for not RE-SORN his car after 6 months.I thought a SORN lasted until it was back on the road.Is there a time limit????

You have to re-new every year,from the first date you put it sorn

I SORN mine in Feb, so I take it you get reminder for it through the post then from what you guys are saying??

I never knew you had to re-new a SORN ??

i wasn't aware i had to renew the sorn so i just ignored it rather than paying a fine

When your tax reminder comes through the post just tick the sorn section then send it back

I got fooked on this .......... car havin resto didn't put a sorn on it ..... now got a c.c.j

Complained and said it was being restored ....... were not interested.

i forgot to renew mine after 12 months,and ignored the frirst £40 fine and then the slapped me with £110 one...so i just payed that b4 it went any further

My car hasnt been on the road for 2 years but every febuary i get a tax reminder form through the post to either tax it or renew the 12 monthly sorn because that was when it was last taxed so
