Default Show me your modified front bumpers!!! *PICS P2*!!!

Basically after a chat with Karl, I need to get some better airflow into the engine bay before I fit the GRS.

Anyone got one already modded they are selling, or can advise on how to get mine modded?

Pics please

gaz have u got any more info/pics

getting it cut is no problem, its how to make it look good later

its a 90 spec bumper, maybe Id be better getting an 80 spec on, and chopping that as they fetch far less, and sell my 90 spec.

bud - already checked karls site, was talking to him earlier about it.

Mine was pretty simple really. It's an 88spec bumper, but same should apply to a 90spec item.

1) First cuts were made to the centre "bar" that the number plate screwed to. Just dut this as straight as poss trying to keep a good line to make the "mouth" square....

2) I mapped out and cut two 3mm MDF "plates" to the shape of the now cut pieces, dug out some of the foamy bumper filling stuff, and adherred them to the cut bits with body filler n' fibre glass stuff. Lots of sanding later it was nice n smooth

3) More body filler, muchos sanding and the over all shape came out, then simply sprayed with filler primer and wet n dry'd it ready for painting

They do look wank cut out. I got a big wanky one at the moment, but cooling is spot on. Needs tidying up, but will still put a std one on for cooler months.

Twins - what kind of filler did you use to stick to the foam?

also, ive been told to put the kenlowes on the radiator, and the intercooler bare in front.

although looking at it now, i cant see there being the clearance for the fans?

the previous owner of this cooler had it set with fans on front of intercooler blowing thru to radiator?

whats everyones thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Rob - from memory, theres 4 bolts on the front - two either side of the radiator... The lower bolts are harder to get to tho - cna't get a ratchet in there as it's too tight - I used a ratchet spanner which did the trick

All finished (just need to touch up round by where the cut was made, number plate is already mounted at very bottom of bumper).

Hope you like, I know not as neat as some people have done, but rather than pay someone £200+ I spent a day at it myself, and feel I have done OK.

Thanks for all the people that advised, also those with opinions, it was MUCH appreciated

Anyway...
