Default Whats the damage? (Court appearance)

Whats the usual points/fine for someone failing to disclose who the driver was when caught on camera speeding?

If plead guilty.

Or if plead not guilty no lose.

Or both.

Speeding wasnt huge, was a 3points n 60quid job, till my old man refused to say who it was, the clown

'fairly sure' 3 points and fine (sure to be more than Ł60)

charge is summat like 'failing to identify the driver of a motor vehicle'

I did this on my company car as they refused to release a photo until I made a plea.... which of course I wasn't going to do until I saw evidence.

Didn't get any points but they fucked me for a grand. Luckily my company stepped up and took it on the chin for me.

If he writes a letter in to the "clerk to the justice", explaining he was unsure of the driver, but by process of elimination now knows it was him, then that side of the case will most probably be dropped which is good news.

The prosecution will more than likely deal with the speeding fine the usual way with 3 points and a start rate of around Ł60 fine, depending on the severity of the excessive speed.

Mate refused to admit to NIP unless they gave him photographic eviden ce to prove it was him driving as he honestly didn't know who was driving at the time.

In the end he got a court summons, phoned them and said he wasn't going as they still hadn't provided him any evidence and ended up getting fined Ł120 and no points

They could only prosecute him for not identifying the driver, which is non endorsable

Agreed that non disclosure of driver equates to a non endorsable prosecution however depending on the Judge, the fine can be anything up to Ł2000 for this penalty.

I personally wouldnt take that gamble.

We have a pic, can see its 2 peoples heads from behind, but could be anyone (looks almost like 2x PF users actually ) unless you knew who was driving, which he does, he jus refusing to say.

Deffo is the car tho, thats obvious from a crack on rear bumper.

Basically he dont wanna bother attending unless it will help, as it about 40mile away, on a work day, and he dont like traveling at the best of times.

He not fussed on the points as he has none and his insurance is peanuts anyhow, but obv the smaller the fine the better.
