Absofuckinglutely seething.
Proper pissed off, after months and months of waiting and fucking around waiting for things to be put right with the cab I get the call to say its all ready for picking up AGAIN!
I'm away over the weekend and working long hours next week so today was the only chance I had to go down to Kent to get the fucking thing back, before Mark ups and leaves.
Problem was we had too much on at work for me mate to give us a lift down so I had to lose a days pay and catch the shitty fuckin train at 11 o'clock for 50 bastid quid Three train stops and a car ride later we get to BSW's workshop were I'm reunited with my car after the best part of a year again! Bonnet re-painted from were someone dropped a toolbox on it when the old place was robbed (last effort the bonnet was painted green, my cars imperial blue ). Same usual shoddiness I've come to expect from my car being there, the odd new scratch, number plate cracked in half, bit of my front wing chipped and bodged back on, filthy as fook, oil and grime all over my cobras and door cards, seat winder snapped, car idling poorly after its third rebuild Chucked a rod the last two times it fucked up. Not with me behind the wheel I might add!
I could see when I got there that it was gonna cause me grief on the journey home, kept wanting to stall etc.... Mark fucked about with a couple of other batterys and gave me one so I could jump the car if need be, got pretty arsey when I told him I new it was gonna cause me some grief on the way home, basically "I've just give you a battery theres not much more I can do" I've allways told him if the car needs something jus get it and I'll pay you, simple!
Anyway get down the road to fill up and of course the car wont start, try the spare battery trick and that fooker dont work either, girl from the checkout comes out and moans about me tryin to jump it on the forecourt, fair enough i spose, pushed it on the road and luckily there was some woman jus sittin in her car and gave me a jump.
Get to the dartford crossing and the car wants to stall in the traffic, me sittin there tryin to keep the revs up so it wont die, smokin like a twat from all the oil in the exhaust from my last unsuccsesfull visit to kent when the turbo let go Bunny hoppin and bouncin through the crossing it somehow got through.
On the way home now, car keeps switchin itself on and off momenterily whilst on the move, manage another 40 miles and then the coont dies.
Phone mark up to basically let him know how shit a job hes done of my car and that YET AGAIN I've wasted time and money fetchin it and that its a fuckin discraceful shit service so he says he'll get a battery and come out to me. Phone the missus to let her know what the crack is and he leaves me an answer phone message sayin he hasnt got time to come out to me and that I should get one of my mates to drive a hundred odd miles out to me in rush hour traffic and go to halfords and get me a battery!!
Not in the RAC or owt so had to get me missus to phone a local recovery firm to come and get me, say bye bye to another 250 sheets. Allmost run out of phone credit so cant phone mark, so text him telling him how gratefull I was for causing me to blow my hard earned.
Thats £50 on the train, £150 for the repaired ecu that I apparently shorted out the last time in broke down on the way home £40 in fuel and £250 for the recovery, and a days wage lost. 4 hours waiting on the hard shoulder of the M1 and a shit slow ride home with a pile of metal that doesent work properly Finally get in at 12.30.
I've previously kept all my dealing with BSW off the internet but I am totally, uterly, 100% UNhappy with all of the work. I originally asked for the work to be done in Feb 2003 which was meant to take a month, and after all this time of spending, waiting and believing the shit he speaks its still doesnt work. I've only ever had the car on the road doing running in miles and twice his builds have failed from what he recons is just bad luck. I'm meant to be gratefull he's put it back together for nothin tho. Never mind all the time, hastle, grief, money lost, insurance wasted that I've patiently put up with! Wonder if this new build has everything in it that I origianally asked for.
So if your reading this Mark, thanks a fucking bunch mate.
Dont know wether to brake it, sell it or try and sort the probs out.

Feel for you mate, sounds like a fuckin proper shoddy job, and at the way the cars been damaged while its been there.
Some/most garages jus dont give a fuck
The engine itself, any idea whats up with it, why it dont run right?

Shit news.
Jim you knob jockey, you should have stuck a post up on here, i'm not too far from kent and have RAC breakdown, could have picked you up from the station too as i was off.
I think you best bet is to cut your losses and take it somewhere else

So far the engine feels ok, allthough its only done about 100 miles. The breakdown was alternator/battery related. Couldnt have made it any clearer that I wanted the car 100% reliable and that any probs should be sorted! What more can I do? When an engine builder/tuner/tosspot tells you everythings sweet then you'd pressume so! But still havnt got any real explanation why the last two rodded emselves. Bad luck apparently. Allthough they felf fine the few miles I did manage to cover with em.
Also the first engine that let go, he tried to blame me for letting the car get too hot (something else that was meant to be sorted) but low and behold my stack had 134mph registered in it whilst it was unmapped and driven to the rollers by his ex mechanic.
First build took about six months this latest one took two weeks.

Company doesnt exist any more mate, and he's packing up and fookin off to Ireland very shortly.
Had allready made my mind up that the car wouldnt be going back to him even if it did fuck up, but I thought surely it'd make the journey home!

Thats a total nightmare, I've had problems with a tuner before but NOTHING even similar to that. Feel for you m8!
If you were in scotland, me and the boys could have a look for you peice of mind! But you're not, so best get it to someone who knows their shit!
Hope it all works out, and everyone remembers NOT to go to BSW!

As you know Jim my car was also built by BSW and sounds like a remarkably similar story One note check your fuel lines as my new one's were low pressure (all of em) which cracked and spewed fuel everywhere!
Had the battery/ altenator problem too because they didnt earth the altenator properly, got towed on a solid bar from the m25 to somerset
Front numberplate was a stuck on job which they put two screws straight through, front splitter cracked, boot lid dent from pushing, more little scrathes and scuffed wheel
Altenator belt damaged by power steering pipe and also rubbed through lower rad hose............ oh fuck it i could go on and on

bsw clearly havent got a fucking clue
how many times are we going to see such posts about them
- daves re headgasket (simply shoddy work)
- jons continual problems (imo all stem from them not having a clue)
- jims fire problems (dangerously shoddy work)
the bloke needs his hands removing imo, i'd sooner take my chances with me doing it myself for fooks sake PMSL
brasso, sad for you but please just cut your losses with that place and take it to someone who knows what they are doing with zetec conversions...... ian howell immediately springs to mind. ive no experience of ian but ive never read or heard anything like this about him. im 100% sure sunny will be able to point you in the right direction of ian or whoever else. im mean fuckin ell mate, things dont repeatedly fail out of bad luck, they fail when they are done wrong and thay are done wrong when people dont know when to admit they are out of depth
on an up note, DO NOT BREAK IT, there are people out there who know what they are doing, bsw just clearly arent one of them

Just found out Mark is leaving the unit today and off to Ireland.
Can't believe all the problems people have had and I'm gutted for you. I must have been the lucky one. (Matt - 99% of my problems were with Clint not Mark)
