Default im having a nightmare

my bloody car is never going to get done at this rate...
its like i just work on it constantly and never get anywhere.
firstly i have managed to get it running with zetec management although it badly needs the unichip fitted coz its lean at the mo.
but the biggest problem is my brakes.
i just cant get them to work on my mk4 escort.
i have tried everything to get them to work.
i have bled them about 20 times i recon.
i have taken all calipers off and inspected them.
i have even changed the master cylender but there is no pedal.
it pumps up a tad of pressure but its just gone when you go for the brakes.
the handbrake works great so i know the calipers are free and working.
the only thing i can think of is the calipers are too big for the master cylender.
could this be whats wrong??
i have sierra rear callipers and the mk3 mondeo front calipers.
pistons are much larger than standard 1.3 escort ones.
could the 1.3 master cylender be whats wrong?

have you swaped them over put the drivers side on the pasngers side and the pasngers side on the drivers side then they should have the nips at the top if the nips are at the bottom there is no way you will get the air out

i have got all the air out by bleeding them the right way up then fitting them after.
they cant be swapped round because handbrake cable has to be at the top on escort mk4's.
its the master cylender anyway.
i clamped the front brake hose and it got harder, then both fronts and it was ok so basically i need a bigger master cylender that fits?!?!?!?

When i had my mk3 xr3i i fitted granada cosworth front calipers and xr4x4 rear and had no problems with the master cylinder or any thing so maybe a xr one is bigger?????? guess.

Are you bleading the brakes woith the engne running?

are you doing it on your own or with help?

are you remembering to hold the pressure on the pedal as the nipple is released and follow it to the floor?

Simple things i know but hey you never know

there is no air in the system at all.
its just fluid coming through.
its down to the master cyl.
maybe they are bigger on the rst's.
i'll look into it, cheers
