Summer Road Trip - France
Alright Guys & Girls,
Me and a couple of mates are gonna do a road trip this summer [on the bikes ] But the same principles apply if we were to do it in cars
We think our destination should be Monte Carlo as there is lots to see and do once we get there + there should be some fantastic roads in the surrounding mountains [WRC rally stages].
I think we'll take 6 days [Thursday to Tuesday] probably. 2 days travelling there, 2 days in Monte Carlo and 2 days travelling back.
Can anyone offer any advice? Places we should visit on-route? Good routes down through France etc...etc.... Is it possible to get cheap accomodation in Monoco?

sounds awesome John. Would love to do that one day.
If I was heading down to Monte Carlo, I would call in at the Millau Viaduct 'en route'
i would try and make it a bit longer and ride some alpine passes while I was in the area as well

Don't fancy doing it in the car...I'd want to know my vehicle would be able to get me back to England

this road is in the Alps, very close to Monaco in fact (and also very close to where i live )
This road is 1.30 hour away from Monaco, and i live 1 hour from Monaco, furher in the south. In fact, my city is the southest possible in south east of France, on the sea.
we do this road with friends and our bikes once a year

Rode down to Valencia in Spain for Moto GP last year and there is some amazing roads
Went down the west coast of France, over the Alps and into Spain. Roads alot better in France, a few of the ones in Spain were like dirt tracks (Bloody Sat Nav )
Did 800km on first day and 900km on the second day to get there for practise day. Managed that distance each day and still in the hotel, showered and ready for a few beers by 19.00
To Monaco and back would be a good trip

Alps are on the other side B9KOS, i think you meant "Pyrenees" (don't know the name in english). Pyrenees are the mountains before Spain. Alps are the ones before Italy and Swiss

Decided not to go to France as we couldn't face the 1000 miles o the south coast!
So we're going to Germany nxt Wednesday overnight crossing Hull to Rotterdam....we'll spend Friday and Friday night in the Dam
Friday travel to Trier for 2 days of the German round of the WRC!!
Sunday upto the ring for a few laps
Then a days riding on Monday before the crossing Monday evening
