Just Joined, Cossie Virgin
Bought my first Ford engined motor last nite..
Its a Vauxhall Chevette with a Cosworth YB engine..
In fairness i know f*ck all about these engines, spoke to Chip, he put me in touch with Chris.. (Very knowledgeable (sp) bloke). He came along to see it with me. All seemed well bar an oil leak from the engine and a few other small niggles.
Unsure on engine specs unfortunatley.. although it should be low milage.. was built in late 80's and stored over the last 17 odd years.
Will get some pics tonight.. its different to say the least

If anyone has any info on this car, or can see anything interesting in the engine bay etc.. let me know because i dont really know what ive got spec wise. so far all i notice is yellow injectors, and ive been told its got an aftermarket turbo.

EscCos cam cover, so maybe a 200block if its the whole EsCos engine.
Standard 2wd injectors.
T3 turbo, so if it is an aftermarket one its not any bigger really.
Cone filter.
Thas about it.
Almost a shame its a drag car, Chevettes are proper lil ass out cars

Nova GLF lives on.. being mapped on 10th of July.
Some on here might remember my Red Nova on route to the big ford show at silverstone last year (i was on my way over to USC
). I got stuck in a huge ford convoy leading up to silverstone.
Does a chap from S. Wales called Stretch use this site (Black Sierra 3dr Cos??)
The paint is going to stay on the Chevette. I wanted to buy it and keep it as it is for fun. Think a few mods to the engine is in order though.
I also found a rear brake shut off today, can hold a burn out on the spot holding the front brakes only on all day long.

sorry to dig this one up from the past. wanted to post in for sale but need special access lol.
Some may remember me buying this some time ago. My intention was to spec the cossie lump up to some good power and keep it for drag racing.
The headgasket went on the car, after pulling the head off, it was noted that the bottom end had been "wired". Around the piston holes in the block are machined to accept wills rings. these make for a stronger bottom end, but at 600 quid a set of rings + suitable gaskets, the car was just put aside.
I had bought a full headgasket repair kit before stripping the head, and this will be included in the sale.
To get the car on the road once more, it will need a replace ment block to switch the crank/rods/pistons etc into or a set of these rings.
So, its for sale, Offers near Ł 2000 will be considered.
Id love to keep the car and finish it myself, but due to a nasty car accident, Ill be on sick pay for at least the next three months and need to release some cash to keep my mortgage paid.
Car is located near Swansea South Wales, Near J49 of the M4. Viewing highly recommended.

looks like the last owner went to B&Q to get a marbol lineo for it,
the front wheel's are of a bmx & i would'nt call it a chevette.
