Default need abit of advice- had a bump.

was reversing from the missus's house which is a dark little terrace. i went into the nearside door of a k reg 106, dented the door and a little bit of the quarter i think.
not much damage on mine, can spry the bumper again. the owners came out and i had a word, they said i could giv em cash instead of goin through my insurance but then she said they dont have insurance.
wots the score with this now as it was on a private road.
i wanna give em somethin as it was my fault.

Surely the Pug doesn't have to be insured if it was a private road and parked at the time!
I'm guessing you should just pay them for the damage or if you can't afford it have a word with your ins company and see what they say.

I think private roads void insurances

IE--This is private land, park here at your own risk ect ect.....

So if you got hit....tough shit

Agree with you there

The guy has put a post up as an honest citizen seeking advice.

I would do as you are planning, give them 20quid to cover it or offer to get a second hand door for them from a scrappy. Well done mate for being honest as so many arent in this day and age

cant see your point here, people have said what they think and thats what hes asked for. giving your opinion on a public forum is what this is about!! yes if some one reversed into foOq's car with NO INSURANCE then yes defintely smash the cunts face in.

get them a new door an after all if its 20quid its only a few drinks your missing out on an not your no claims,

ok for a start - its private land so all you jumping on your fucking high horse calm your fucking arse down they dont need insurance

and secondly, FUCK giving them Ł20 - you hit their car through your crap driving, you put it back to how it was. ffs stop being so fuckin tight, why should they suffer because you cant drive?

if you can go and find a door in the right colour and fit it for them for Ł20 then fine do it, but dont just bung them Ł20 thats not fair at all.

at the end of the day you hit them, now take it like a man and reverse the damage.

FOR FUCKS SAKE

seconded the above by ballin

(but without the swearing )

if they decide to chase you for the money through the courts its going to cost lots more

come to a agrement, get it printed up, get some to sign it on the owners behalf, make it as watertight as possible, in triplicate etc and gt it sorted

its the only way

Yes, see how much they want, then go scout out a door and weigh up whether what they are asking for is reasonable. Alternatively get a quotye from a bodyshop and pay for the work done right as you would expect them to do for you.

Is this car used on the public highway as well as the private land though?

I agree that you should pay to put it right though

Agree with Ballin, you tightfisted nobends, if it was your cars that got hit on private land then youd be all posting up acting the Internet big man talking about violence to the twat thats offered you 20quid.
Violence you dont have the personality or ability to carry out.

IMO, as youve already owned up, if its your fault, pay for the damage, 20quid is a pisstake unless the car was scrap.

i agree here with some members if it was there cars it would be
go and smash the fookers face in go and dent his car etc.

you said it was your fault try getting them another door or offer
to pay half i would be happy with this if it was my car.

also why didnt it have insurance how long has it been standing for
if its been there along time no point in doing fook all about it as
it may eve go for scrap anyway.

better still buy it of them and sell it on yourself there worth jack shit
now anyway dude

totally as per ballin.

IMO you damaged their car, so you pay up for the car to be repaired. Its none of your buisness as to if their car is insured or not, as long as they not using it on the public highway. The car in question might be sorn and just been parked so theres no need for insurance.

Why do people think its fine to damage someone else car and then have the "give them fuck all"attiude and make up different reasons as to why you dont have to pay for the damage you cause

Tiff im supprised you have this attuide, as reading that someone hit your Mondeo ST and drove off and you being proper pissed off about it, then few days later your telling someone to do excatly the same thing

You have damaged somebody elses property so you should pay for the damage.

For example, if you drove into someones fence, you would have to pay for the repair on the fence.

As it is on a private road, insurance need not apply for that vehicle.

Be careful in a situation like this, as if you refuse to pay for the repair, the owner of the vehicle can forward a criminal damage claim to the police.

Good Luck

Not exactly the same thing at all!

My car is fully insured and it was on a public road.

If my car had not been insured and sat on my drive and someone hit it, i would know that i didnt have a leg to stand on.

"Hiya its the girl whos red peugeot u smashed into ive been to the garage its not good news u have wrotre off the car got a written confirmation letter gonna have to ask u for the value the car is worth Ł400"

so your saying that it cant be officially written off if its not insured cos ive been thinkin about just buying it from them and sortin it outmyself then selling it on.

It can't be written off if it's not insured. The garage can't decide if it's written off. They're taking the cunt out of you. Right, I need you to tell me exactly where on 'private land' this car was parked, where you were going, how fast etc. Give us all the details. I think you should give this girl YOUR insurance details then call the police and report the accident. If they were fucking legal, not driving about with no cunting insurance, they'd claim through their insurance to yours. Like your supposed to. Their now playing on your guilt to scam you out of Ł400.......

There vehicle has to be officially written off by a surveyor, not some grease monkey from the local garage.

Phone your insurance and seek advice, thats what you pay them for.

As we're saying, you need to get this in the legal system ASAP. The car you hit could have been knackered to start with, you don't know. YOUR rights need to be protected as well as theirs. They've seen this is a great opportunity to con you out of money God, I hate un-insured drivers

a garage can wright it of if thay know the value of the car
all thay have to say to the insurance is damage value is more
than the car i think the damage has to be with in 20 or 30
per cent value of the car before thay can right it off.

ive worked in a body shop if thay say the guy is paying for it
himself then thay cant wright it off as it will be out of his own
pocket.

as for them taking it to the garage how the fook did thay do that
there's no insurance on the car.

my advice is dont piss about get to the police station and see
what thay say and report the accident to them or in time it will
be more hassle for you
