the car was off the main road (A5) in glyndyfrdwy in a little housing terrace which is down a little single track with no lighting.. the houses in this terrace pull right upto the track and the owners just park outside there houses slighlty on the track. i was reversing upto the main road because theres no room to turn around at the bottom. I wasnt goin fast at all as i couldnt see much and i was going in reverse in a little 1.4.
i have asked her what garages she took it to and i know the places and there the most dodgy garages around here.

well i went to the police station.. copper took all the details but didnt put it down as a police incident as it was on private road.
he said it was private road because its not road maintained by the government/council.
he said the advice he would give to anybody he knew would tell them your not paying Ł400 and to give them all of my details incluiding my insurance and let them get on with it. he said its abit dodgy just handing over the money as it may never stop.
but he didnt mention any of the legalities concerning who can write off cars.
hes also gonna keep a look out for the car cos shes driving round with no insurance.

im with rab.
ring police, inform them what happened (mentioning shes uninsured and driving it like that too!)
then ring yuor insurers and tell them the same info and admit liability.
that way youre 100% in the right.
if the insurers DO pay out to her (unikely) then imho you deserve it for hitting her car, take it like a man

As Jim just said. Phone your insurance and tell them what happened. Pass your details on to her, and leave it at that. They won't pay out as she has to claim through her insurance, which she doesn't have.
You should have done this from the start mate.

Mmmm,
This may seem like a daft question, but, to get onto this 'private 'road are the barriers or anything like that.
I would argue that its a public place if there are no such barriers and therfore insurance is needed and it can be recorded as a bump, thereby she can get knocked off for no insurance.

From a legal point of veiw they are not entitled to a penny & don't have a leg to stand on - was it taxed ?
If not then it shouldn't be parked anywhere now & you can report this & they will get a fine for that ........... & possibly towed.
I understand you may feel guilty - but it's not insured - that's there fault not yours ..............
As RAB suggests - contact the police before you go any further.
