as above was chatting to a mate about rebuilding my zetec and he said why not put a 2.0 head on it as it will have bigger valves

i know it will breathe alot heavier but i dont mind this, plus it will put the bhp up a bit

you cant iirc. for the money and hassle it would take you would be better off just dropping the whole 2ltr zetec in

could you put a 1.8 head on a 1.6 then?

the 1.8 and 2.0 use very similar heads (if not the same. cant quite remember) and you can swap cams from the two. the 1.6 block is too small to accept the head and the diameter of the combustion chambers are different. honestly mate it wouldnt be worth it.. i take it your talking about the series1/2 zetec here? if so, you are never going to get big power out of the 1.6. obviously anything is possible, but how deep are your pockets this is why not many people use the 1.6 as a base.
