i could have sworn the sportka had a 1.6 duratec?

Either why there not very tunable, unless you spend wads and wads!

It is badged duratec, but it comes from another source IIRC.

Just as the focus RS engine was badged Duratec RS yet it is in reality a zetec turbo.

Drop in a puma engine or an RS turbo unit.

Not too expensive and nice easy tuning routes.

Also you won't need big power to make a fast car.

Would be fucking tight in a KA.

You have to cut the front crossmember just to get a Puma engine in!!

Wouldn't be worth it unless it was a zetec turbo

In 2003, the Zetec-Rocam engine was introduced in Europe, but labeled as Duratec 8v, for the SportKa and StreetKa models. Later a 1.3 L version was also released as an option for the standard model, but the European versions of the engine are produced in the South Africa plant.

LOL dont you love Ford...

Zetec-Rocam Sigma 1.6 L (1597 cc) 2000–present SOHC

Simga engines - alloy head iron block

Zetec engine - All alloy

Rocam - better than an endura e (Kent push rod lump!) but only just!

Looks like ford were cutting corners on this. They should have just put the 1.6 or 1.7 zetec in!
