guy bids £620,comes and gets it,looks round it-happy enough to give me the cash.......
emails me after ive given him good feedback telling me the car is running great, but i didnt tell him that the sunroof diidnt open, the pass window is tempremental, the light up washer jets (!) dont work.threatens to give me bad feedback if i dont compensate him.....prick
oh yes and the brake light was out
so now of course after giving him good feedback i have got bad feedback

i have even offered to sort out the little jobs,if he brought it back-just so i could knock him the fook out.over a 600 vectra!

Hi Dave
I suppose you are refering to me...As I said I am sorry you don't feel well today and you feel put out. You made the effort to show me the exhaust and I made the 2 and a half hour round trip to look at it. I looked and it was not for me, what else can I say......

Oh yeah dave,
I was meaning to tell you - one of the defi's has this really small scuff on it, and you cut one of the wires at a funny angle and one of the box lids was ripped.
I'd like you to refund all my money and let me keep them.
Not!
Picked them up today mate - they're spot on.
Pleasure doing business with you

I have to say though, and this CATEGORICALLY ISN'T aimed at Dave, I have seen alot of cars broken for parts and the most common thing that people do is price the parts according to the last time they saw them. So, they remember their nice shiny Koni shocks and their spangly wiring loom etc, which they price accordingly. Then when it comes to removing it from the car, it's a bit of a chore, so it gets torn off and slung in a box without so much as a wipe.
I have seen people sell wiring looms for management systems and the way they have been removed from the car is just plain careless and lazy, with plugs chopped off and all-sorts.

In a way I do understand what Dave is saying on the exhaust. At the end of the day its a second hand exhaust that has been under car.. it will be marked/dirty!
I've bought a few 2nd hand S/S's myself and with a bit of elbow grease they buff up the nuts but then why bother if you're only going to see the tailpipe If he wanted a mirror finish jobbie for a concours Esc Cos then buy a new one for another couple of hundred quid!
At the end of the day the guy was entitled to turn down the exhaust but I can understand Dave annoyance at putting people off the sale and I think the guy had a pretty high expectation of what he was buying.
BTW Dave how did you get on with the diff on sat?

Hi Dave...
"we still on the for the exhaust mate? keep it because i definatley want it!"
I said this and had the full intention of buying the exhaust on the basis of your adverts picture and you telling me that it had only done 900 miles. You also stated you had the blank for the sensor boss.
I have no facilities at home at all, so when you told me I just needed to find a bolt that fitted and cut it down to make a boss plug plus try and find some u bolts because they were missing as well it just didn't add up for me when a new one was not alot more.... I too left work early to make the trip, so there was dissapointment on both sides.
As I said I am sorry you felt unwell but that really is nothing to do with me...This is just a case of different expectations please don't turn it into a slagging match. I am surprised you even posted about it....
Regards Malc

I really don't know what some people expect.
There are some proper fooking Steptoe & Sons out there having a laugh.
I put my Prelude up on a Honda Forum a couple of weeks ago at a crazy low price. So low the missus cuffed me round the ear when she found out. I get this guy phone me up an hour or two later "I want to buy your car mate, I'm coming to get it Monday" so I go and make all the preperations. He turns up and starts going over it like a concourse judge. He then complains about the rot on the bodywork and points at his own Prelude and says
"I got that for £1500 and the body on it is mint."
All I could think was "But I'm asking £500, what the fuck has a couple of rusty arches got to do with it". Then to add insult to injury he says he's going to go get some food and think about it. Of course I sit there all night like a lonely dog at the window waiting for him to come back. Instead I get some spawny PM at 11pm saying the cars too far gone to be worth buying.
General rule is, anybody you don't know off the net is likely to be a know nothing scrounging twat who'll just waste your time.

I'm just saying that it's very easy to sit on the net going through for sale posts and basically taking the piss. I just agree with the principle of putting stuff up at a price and first come first served. Unless it's someone you know.

ah, furry muff...
agree with u on the 1st come 1st served though, have dealt with a few time wasters who say 'yeah keep it for me mate' blah blah etc only to be let down a week or so later, during which time i could have sold it

Grow up Dave with the insults You city types really think your "IT" dont you?
Malc has landed another
Look pal...you dont come on PF and post about a bloke that said he wanted something WITHOUT seeing it.....and in this case the item wasnt as described by the looks?
For the sake of 200 quid you are willing to slag someone off? You should become an official trader

Maybe i am just being dumb, but what has food poisoning and going home early got anything to do with it ?
At the end of the day the exhaust wasnt for the guy, but he also made a journey to see it so i wouldnt class him as a "messer"
A messer is someone who
A) Phones and then doesnt turn up
or
B) Says he will buy something online and then doesnt pay....
Anyone who bases a sale on word of mouth without a visual shouldnt in my book. Not everything is as mint in everyones eyes.
You want a good exemple of a MESSER is the fact that i did a 950 mile round trip WITH A TRAILER to see a "MINT SERIES 1" that turned out to be a fooking shed on the inside and mechanically, guy claimed on the phone it was proper mint, ran well etc...and old pics seemed to back this up.....had to turn round and come all the way back home again, 14 hour drive each way and £300 lighter of pocket for fuel i was NOT a happy man
THATS being messed about.
