Default New car! NOW WITH PICS

The S2 was sold last year to my mates brother and is still sorely missed. I bought a Nissan Micra runaround just after that to get me to and from work (paid £100 for it). Been ages since Ive had a decent car so started to look at getting a newer more comfortable car. I would have loved a Cossie but it would have be more grief than it was worth. Andyway trawling through Autotrader saw a few examples of what I liked and then went and saw one with a mate from work........deposit was put down!

I picked the car up Saturday just gone and drove it to Brighton and it drives like a dream!

Anyway the car is a 51 plate Golf GTi Turbo and I fooken love it! Completey standard (for now ) and mint.

Will post pics up soon

Roll on Inters!

P.S. I will ALWAYS be a Blue Oval Boy

I know the diesel 150 bhp ones are quicker due to the massive torque figure but I dont like the diesel sound.

Pics should be up later today

I have the 150bhp one which has the K03 on it. I have heard limited number of the AUM engines had the K03 sport on them, will have to find out about mine

I think if you have the sport version you might have 180bhp?

Yep all the Drive by wire golf 1.8t have a KO3s which is what yours will be.

With a basic custom code map for about 400 quid you should be lucking at about 210bhp. with a few other changes like CAI, exhuast decat and a stage two map you could be heading for 230bhp+

no offence, just not my cuppa tea - too common and look about as sporty as a rowing boat imo!

but my opinion doesnt matter mate, as long as you are happy

The following re-map figures for the various 1.8 T 20v's are approximate & depend on exhaust, filter & who's rolling road it's been done on etc., but they should give you a good idea of what's obtainable!

AGU = 150 bhp standard - Throttle cable, KO3 turbo, 5 speed :- Re-maps to 195-210 bhp.

ARZ = 150 bhp standard - Drive-By-Wire, KO3 turbo, 5 speed. :- Re-maps to 195-210 bhp.

AUM = 150 bhp standard - D.B.W., VVT, KO3s turbo, 5 speed :- Re-maps to 220-230 bhp.

AUQ = 180 bhp standard - D.B.W., VVT, KO3s turbo, 6 speed :- Re-maps to 220-230 bhp

Your AUM will run 0.6 bar boost and the AUQ will 0.8 bar thats the only reason for different bhp
