Seriously considering binning the FRS and getting a German beasty. Just ran a quote through confused.com, came out at £505 FC!!
Shit, was hoping the insurance would put me off.
Someone give me a reason not to...

Ummmmmmmmmmm....
The 540 would be 50 quid cheaper?
I can honestly say that you won't regret a thing, even the mpg isn't shocking if you don't tear-arse the fuck out if it everywhere (which is hard to resist )

His On Board Computer always stays around the 19-20 mpg mark ,
Thats just fuckin amazing for what it is.
His is now sold as of this morning though .
Rear tyres are 275/40, ££££££££££££
Even in "laid back" mode it absolutley totalled an Evo 8 when I was in it.God knows what it would be like in sport mode

Mr.Brannen, only getting 20-22mpg out of the FRS, so thats do-able. Potential problem costs are a worry though.

I have an e46 328ci now i know it aint the same ball park but serviceing is not that expensive. No more costly then a cossie or a frs...
Also WHO THE FUCK SPENDS £1000 on tyres, the E46 has 18" rims 245/40/18 and i have dunlop sports on all corners and they only just £100 each.....Someone has been ripped off if they paying more then £250 a corner.....

look out for excess oil consumption.permitted limit is 1 litre per 500 miles (which i think is bad enough) but much more than this and your in engine replacement territory which is serious money.the only real common problems i can think of is the rear antiroll bar clamps break (every 5 minutes!!) but they are cheap and a piece of piss to change.also check that it has had the modified vanos solenoids.iirc these stop the oil draining out of the vanos as much and reduce cold start rattling from the vanos.oh yeah and vanos replacement is vvv costly aswell!and make sure you check the clutch isnt slipping.i'll let you know if i think of anything else!
