Default 4wd and 2WD Saff Turbos

Am i right in thinking that they're both T3's?

But the difference is the flange where it connects to the manifold?

They both use the same size mounting flange. The studs are just mounted opposite way.

The core just has to be spun round and an adapter bracket fitted to reposition this, to take into account the differing positions of the manifold flanges.

4x4, but not by much, IIRC its just an ever so slightly better flowing compressor wheel.

In fact, id be interested to know from any experts, Stu, Karl, or maybe Mike can ring Harvey what the actual differences are regarding performance of the two.

Thanks mate

interesting one if you look at this which you posted the differing numbers mean that they've got differing trim

FORD Sierra RS Cosworth (Turbo T3/TB0361) 1986-87 2WD
FORD Sapphire RS Cosworth (Turbo T3/TB0361) 1988-90 2WD
FORD Sapphire RS Cosworth (Turbo T3/TB0384) 1990-93 4WD

TB361 (2wd) has a 55 trim compressor wheel, 60mm exducer, 44.65mm inducer and 6.2mm tip height

..and the TB384 (4wd)has a 60 trim comp wheel, 60mm exducer, 46.5mm inducer and 5mm tip height.

Escort Cosworth TB34 runs a 69mm exducer, 46.8 mm inducer, and is nigh on a TO4B style compressor (which have 70mm exducer) hence why it is known as a T34, it is basically a T3/T4 hybrid, much in the way a 'T28' is a T25 back end, with a very close T3 sized compressor wheel...

All the T3's run the same 59mm turbine wheel and 6mm shaft.
