Default Coke and Mr Sheen??

Okay, im allergic to coke....and when I drink it I come out in a rash inside my elbows, on my forearms etc, basically it flares me up. The doctor has just always advised me to avoid coke (took u a degree to figure that out?).....so although I've pondered over what the triggering ingredient might be, I've never had the oppurtunity to find out....
Today, whilst sitting in work, someone sprayed mr sheen on my desk n dusted along passed me.....and I had the same reaction, I had to bathe my arms in the basin for about 10 mins to stop them going spaz red.....
Im not allergic to anything else.....so it wouldnt be a seperate reaction.....

Any chemical whizz here who can tell me what the fuck is in both coke and mr sheen?? (and dont say hydrocarbons or oxygen, because im not allergic to petrol or air, lol)[/i]

Get a tin of each and compare the labels is probably a good bet.
They are supposed to show all the ingredients used now.
See if anything matches.
If not then it looks like you are allergic to 2 things!

Katie, you need to try and get hold of the MSDS (material safety data sheet) for Mr Sheen, there should be a 'customer services' or similar phone number on the back of the aerosol, the MSDS should show the main ingredients....

Well as it happened at work, ask the cleaner/cleaning company to provide you with the info.......(they SHOULD be able to under COSHH reg's)

Yep, billabong's right! By law they have to be able to provide you with an ingredients list. I guess it means you get out of doing the cleaning for the rest of your life?

Haha no such luck, weve always used pledge, hence no mr sheen experience before lol

The ingredients list isnt what i need.....I know for a fact theres gona be a lot of stuff n both lists, like carbon dioxide, parephnol(sp?) o2 hydrogen etc.....I was just wondering if there was a chemist here who could tell me =)
as just 2 lists and comparisons wont really make anything clear to me =)

I get what you mean. I'll ask a friend or two and see what i come up with. I used to work in a chemist so one of the pharmacists may be able to shed some light on the matter. Have you ever had any reaction with any Mr. Muscle products? I think the chemical make up of the two brands is pretty similar in the polish. I'll check.

I was hoping MR sheen and his flying can of polish had been done for using coke.
