i have a normal membership and now ive been asked to upgrade to trader membership.all ive sold of here is 3 new s1 grills and i dont make much out of them at all.i cannot afford another £150 to get trader membership.do u think this is unfair as i do

and now my membership has been frozen .dont think thats right and very unfair .if i was making enough out of you guys then i would go for a trader membership but 1 im not a trader and im only selling grills mainly .its not like im breaking cossies and turbos everyday.

If you arent actually making any money from the site then surely the easiest option would be to ask for your normal membership back and not post things on here for sale when you make little or no money from them anyway?

If you wish to be a trader you pay, if you dont think that you will cover the fees with profit then dont trade, pretty simple choice

Chip - thats not the point.... I think the point he is making is that he has paid the £20 Gold Membership, which entitles you to sell stuff on here, but has now been told to either pay £150 for trader membership or have his gold membership forzen....

I htink the point is where do you draw the line between gold member sales and trader sales? I'm sure 3 S1 grilles don't qualify you for trader status

And why would he want to have his Gold membership back if he still isn't allowed to sell stuff? Thats probably why he got it in the first place!!?!?!!

thats right .i got the membership so i could sell a few things here and there and help out the fellow s1 guys out.i specially got made s1 grills and i make little money out of them.i have sold 3 and made a £5 on each so far i was asking for more at 1st but now im stuck with them all and nobody wants them and to top it of you wanna charge me £150 for another membership being a trader .

If he is selling a product (like grilles) not just things surpless from his hobby then it sounds like trading to me.

Im sure Stu will clear up any confusion though.

But my point was ask for his gold status back and then go back to just flogging off surplus bits from his hobby etc like anyone else does but NOT trade items such as multiple new grills bought in bulk to sell at a profit or whatever he was doing.

If you read the rules when you signed up to the site [which incidentally you would have clicked "I agree to the terms and conditions"], or posted in the various for sale rooms, the suspension of your goldmembership wouldn't have come as a shock to you. If your memory needs refreshing Click Here and pay special attention to rule 2.

The fact is, whatever you're selling is sold for more than you paid for it or more than it cost for you to make, with the intention of a profit.

I haven't looked up the dictionary definition of a Trader, but I can imagine it's just a better worded version of that.

I wouldn't ever try to second guess Stu or Pet, and I am sure they WILL clear it up.... I was thinking along the lines of : if you make a living out of selling bits on forums/internet and sell the same stuff on here, then you should pay trader's fee.

If you manage to get hold of half a dozen bits n bobs every now and again nice n cheap and sell em on to make a few beer tabs for yourself, then thats not really Trader status is it?

But as said - it ain't my place to challenge, nor to try and define the rules

thats the point exactly ... if you are selling parts you have collected over the years then thats fine .. although i totally appreciate the fact you have paid out and got these made it is classed as trading sorry.....

whilst i hope you can appreciate that there are a few on here why buy and break cars as their business they pay the traders fee as it helps run the site. just looked at your posts .. and you seem to have a lot of bits floating around...

sorry m8 i see your trying to be fair but i cant see it being that way anyway and i dont think i should bum lick someone anyway .im just trying to honest and get on with it all.if i was earning loads like traders do i would pay up.basically a trader on here has got in for me rearly and had a word with graceland i think.i might be wrong

I think I will cancell my trade memebrship at the end of this year and just say all the parts I have are off my own cars or I got bored with my present car so Iam breaking it as i change my car once a week I will save £200 a year still get the benifit of free advertising pay no tax and pretend i want to help everyone

I have 5 cossies in for breaking at the mo ,,BUT im only breaking them to help people out who cant get parts ,, not to pay my ,,,,rent / tax / rates / insurance / wages etc etc ,, People who trade and pretend they dont are the reason this place suffers as why should gen traders pay a fee to trade and let others make more proffit than us as they dont pay taxes etc
