Default REFUND How do we stand

Right here we go my Son RST bought a brand new DT 50 motorbike which has had nothing but problems since the day we picked it up on Friday just gone
No sooner than he pulled away from the shop speedo never worked they fixed that there and then with a new sensor
Then he pulled away got round the corner no indicaters I said turn round take it back they stripped it down to find the fault and said come back saturday for it .
So we did Turns out some thing was not pluged in
Next we get the bike home alls fine till sunday morning i notice liqiud on the floor in the garage pipes leaking causeing warning light to come on for temp gauge really pissed off by now
Any way gets on the bike this morning leaking petrol bad so i told him to not go to work and get the bike back to the shop so he did
The shop said both pipes was split so the change the water and petrol pipes
He then rings me to say its all fine hes off to work
But then i get another phone call to say its playing up hes got flat spots and and the throttle gone stiff So i phoned the shop and they said bring it back tomorrow
To cut along story short ive since spoke to Office of fair trading and they have told me to put it all in writing and ask for a full Refund
Ive paid £2,200 CASH for this bike if i wanted one with problems id have bought him a second hand one

What shall we do All advise welcome Its a well known bike shop

Reject the bike as stated above. Get a full refund and seek compensation. They have sold you a dangerous bike and have endangered your son's life. You trusted their workmanship and are guilty only of believing what they told you.

Let us know how you get on mate.

for new cars there is a certian code of conduct that the garage must follw and its along the lines of failures etc...

if they wont give you a refund, go to your local citizens advice or trading standards, ive had one or two problems over the years with things and they have sorted it out for me.

citizens advice is the best route if they wont refund but as i found out you have to take them to a small claims court etc and shell out legal costs. if you win you will get you costs paid but its still your money going out rather than in . and then theres the wait for it to go to court !!!!

To be perfectly honest, as a retailer nothing pisses me off more than whiney customers who hype and dramatise and make a song and dance about everything. Endangering lives by having a faulty lightbulb, holidays ruined by a leaky headlight..... We dont care!

Dont be a drama queen, stick to the facts, they sold you a crap bike, its not fit for the purpose and under the sale of goods act you are entitled to a refund as they have had 3 attempts to fix it.

Thats all you need to say, thats all they need to know.

As for compensation, that might earn you a bill for the mileage you have managed to do.

Of course if they say no, its trading standards time!

He's Rizla's Son, and "they" own the red escoss, but they may sell it to go RWD if a nice motor comes up! I think

And his Son is 16 so Rizla's obviously bought him a bike for his Birthday
