Best to take it as they will ask for it as you go through. Strictly speaking no you dont but given the security now at airports you'd be a bit nieve to think you'll get through without it mate or the associated aggro not having it could cause

See which carriers fly there mate - if EasyJet it'll be cheap but you may find only BA fly there. Shouldn't be too bad though. I flew from London to Teeside and back for £140 with BA.

Late booking is expensive, even with Easy jet. You need photographic I.D.

how much you wanna bet?!

fife is a good bit south of where i am and i used to regularly travel up and down to watford and it was quite often cheaper to get 2/3/4 of ya in a car and drive. if you book flights months in advance then yes of course its cheaper but you still have travel too and from airports at either end.

also we reckoned that the time difference between driving and flying wasnt all that much different by the time you got there. flying means getting to airport, checking in, flying, blah blah.

you'd be surprised

Take your passport - I fly regularly between Edinburgh and Englandshire and all the budget carriers want official photo ID (photo drivers licence or passport) Last week, even BA asked for it for the first time and I'm in their Executive Club.

But don't let anyone tell you this is for security. It only came in when easyjet and Ryanair noticed that they were selling out all the cheap fares very quickly and these were then being resold nearer to the travel date at higher prices - the seller would just provide the name they had booked under and the booking reference and anyone could turn up, say they are "John Smith" and go, so they brought in the photo ID rule.

I'd offer to go look, but I doubt if I could tell you a bad one from a good...
