Default stagger-gap turbine seals

Anyone got experience of using stagger-gap turbo turbine end oil seals?
In theory they should offer a lot better oil control, avoiding oil ingress into the exhaust from bearing housing... are they that much better than standard end-gap seal rings?

thanks for the input guys, I can't see any downside apart from a few quid - the gains and benefits have got to outweigh the small additional cost, difficult to see why they bother using standard end-gap seal rings at all??

I use step adjusting seals in all of my Turbo's.

Not had one fail due to the exhaust seal for years.

I would advise using them everytime.

Cost for the seal is £10
