Sound like you have Celiac Disorder - where you need to eat foods that are gluten free, which is most things without wheat and flour in them...

My old suffers from it and bread especially would put her in quite bad pain, she'd have harsh stomach cramps everyday, feel quite ill.....

Get it checked out......

I'm not allergic but am pregnant so have stopped drinking coffee (used to have 5-6 cups a day at work) for the first couple of weeks I felt absolutely shocking, dog tired, irritable, headaches but now I feel absolutely fantastic, I drink plenty of water and fruit juice and have loads more energy. I won't go back to coffee after baby's born, you don't realise how much it affects you.

This has turned out to be a really really useful thread for me (thanks to everyone who's posted info)

after going to the doctors only this morning he said i needed to watch my diet and get regular exercise which; being a truck driver i dont either very often.

https://passionford.com/forum/muppet-room/266817-just-rang-the-doctors.html

see this thread for my symptoms. feeling tired, sleeping way too
much etc.

i too drink 5-6 cups of tea a day and about 2 -3 cans of coke. grab fatty sandwiches from transport cafe's or have a full english if i have 30mins to spare. this thread has really opened my eyes seeing some of the replies. i am definatly going to cut out caffine and if you'd said to me before i read this thread that i might need it theres no way i would've believed you. i knew there was caffine in tea but i thought it was minimal.

some top info ta

I have a lot of those traits you mentioned in your first post Stu, but don't drink much caffeine (maybe a cuppa tea every few days at most) so can't be that.
My diet is pretty good in fact health wise, but perhaps there is something in there that gives me a short fuse

Hi Pal,
Sorry i missed your question ages ago. There are a lot of dietary triggers for temper, some of which I have still yet to pin down but my mood still drops like a stone after some meals.

Chocolate and cane sugar are very big ones for a lot of people as are most forms of sweetener.

Very interesting topic and has me wondering

Im told im a moody torn faced cunt by the missus at times well a lot off the time , especially with teh kids when they get on my tits and has ended with us not speaking etc etc

Im a tea drinker (drinkin as i type this ), can have maybe 12 cups a day, dont take suger just semi skimmed milk

I am a shit sleeper, 4-5 hours max and never achieve a lie-in, i end up getting up early 6-7am on days off even after a session with the bevy and dont get hangovers either, im tired al lot of the time although i do have part blame in that as i work a nightshift every sunday night that starts at 5pm through till 6am on monday mornin(Myself and workmate drive down to birmingham and back overnight and take a turn of having a wee kip when not drivin.......i get home about 6.30am but dont go to bed i just stay up to look after wee man while missus goes to work)

Used to drink pepsi max in large amounts aswell but i have changed this to water or dilluting juice for work etc and i feel fresher cutting out the fizzy shit i admit.

Linked to this via benni in the other thread.

Free bump as its a useful topic for some newer users and to add.
It took me a long while to work out what gave me such a severe temper, pinned it down to caffeine. I would visit the out laws and be fine sat with people talking but would feel miserable after too long and feel a bit anxious. Once we got in the car the mrs wouldn't have to say much and i'd go mental, totally over the top. I only drank tea there, rarely had it at home but often had coke. Used to have steaming withdrawal headaches the next day from it.
My Mrs had always drank loads of coke and got sick of me telling her thats why she has headaches etc.. Long story short on this though. When our daughter was very young she had a problem (without too much detail) where she prolapsed and had very bad constipation. At 2 yrs old she had to have a minor op to cure the prolapsing. A few years later and my son is born and has similiar problems but not as bad. By chance Mrs' brother found something when looking for information during his mrs own pregnancy stating that if pregnant women drink lots of coke during the pregnancy it can in some cases cause the problems my daughter suffered with.

We are quite careful now with what we eat and enjoy a takeaway regularly but it is in moderation. I drink lots of water and have slowly got used to it. I try to have a firm rule that i'll only have any coke as a mixer with my JD!

I'm conscious of what the kids eat too and check the labels rigourously on their food. Daughter has a mild lactose intolerance but the dr's were no use here and wouldn't test for it. Again it took a little thought to pin it down but we have cut cheese, youghurt, whole milk etc from her diet to eliminate it as the cause and so far we haven't had any more problems - she is also very good when shes out and knows what makes her sick.

So far the only thing we know (apart from the obvious "e's") not to feed our son is Smarties, these apparently don't have any artificial colours but he was uncontrollable after a packet he had at someones. Just couldn't sit still and was totally hyper.

Sorry for the long post. Just read the whole thread and thought i'd share our experiences.

Oooh, and look, they are considering banning it. Causes cancers when injected into rats.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/samuel..._b_250249.html

And most people are unaware of how it first came into use. Helped having a certain Donald Rumsfeld as a member of the board, and falsifying toxicology reports.

This evidence on the carcinogenicity of aspartame was strongly reinforced in a unique 2007 feeding test, based on maternal feeding of rats in early pregnancy, resulting in their lifelong exposure to aspartame, beginning in fetal life. This resulted in a still higher increase in the incidence of cancers at sites including those previously reported. In April 2007, the results of this study were presented by Ramazzini scientists at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York.
Under the explicit provisions of the 1958 Delaney Law, which requires an automatic ban on carcinogenic food additives, it is anticipated that Dr. Margaret Hamburg, the newly appointed FDA Commissioner and inspiring public health advocate, will promptly ban the continued use of aspartame.
