Had to laugh! my FRS vs. M3.
Decided to give the FRS a good run on the way home from work this morning, nice and dry and sunny. Had it to over 155 on the speedo then came upon some traffic so backed off, got up tp 140 ish again and theres an E46 M3 1/2 mile ahead which saw me coming and pulled over, as I passed him I backed off to 90 ish, got about 1/2 mile up the road and he comes haring up along side me, and the passenger actually waved as if to say "bye bye". Twat. 
So he floored it, wasn't going to bite, but the road was empty so I did, and he gained no ground at all up to 140ish which is when I decided things were getting silly, giggling my head off and pulled off a slip road.

ha ha, nice one mate, shame we all have to worry bout speed cameras etc these days isnt it, i can just picture the twat of a passenger stop wavin as u creep past at 145 ish lol

Had the same with a CTR when the blokes mail order bint flicked us the bird on the motorway as they came past. Her face was a picture when I changed down and left them behind looking very very silly

Thats the best kind of tear ups, when the other person(s), esp wehn they got a bird with em, think they about to take the piss out the slow car, and then get beat.

my step dad has a 346 m3, and my stage 1 cossy was embarressed....
good race then plynchy......ive not had a high speed race for ages,....well,....i raced another 320 up to about 100 couple of weeks back.....

I'm not making any of this up, got no reason to, just thought it was hilarious at 7am this morning. Can just picture M3 driver saying to his mate, "wave bye to that twat in the Focus" his mate "what, the one thats keeping up with us? erm..."
I realise there is no way it should have kept up, maybe he was in the wrong gear...

m3 aint all that fast. well not compared to modded cars.
Yes i agree they are very fast for a std car. i would say on par with a average stg 3 2wd cossie.
Stg 1 is 260-280bhp.
My xr2tt beats a 343bhp m3 (40-130mph), not by much, but it does.
and even keep up with a 280 m3 on 10psi.

plynch ther was an m3 driver giving it the bigun on the way to knokhill last year and i left it for dead , so i can imagine why you where laughing because i found it funny as fooook

just after i first bought my xr2, it was running about 110bhp, was ploding at about 65 on the M4 and a load of chavs in a mk5 xr3i came past and sat next to me looking at the car, i looked over and they all waved and started pulling off, so i took chase, flashed them at about 100...my mum waved at them as we cruised past
mk2 xr2 + headwork, cam and carb = Ł700
full tank of fuel = Ł40
look on their faces as my mum waves 'bye bye' at 110+mph = priceless
also, the the E36 M3s arnt that quick either, in the xr2 with that spec ^^ plus a blue printed 1640 bottom end, i managed to juuuust hang onto one on a section dual carrageway in weston with a roundabout in the middle, which considering the xr2 cant have been running much over 115bhp at the time, with full road trim..... wasnt that quick.

lol after looking at the last few posts i now know i need 200bhp to equal a 197bhp type r, but if i buy a 115bhp xr2 i can nearly stay with m3s.

lol.... if u get a slight drop on pull away... then u cum on boost pretty early u will stand a chance....
