Its deffo a loose wire, touch the wire and the gauge goes down! let go and it goes back up!!

If you'd had a SECS monitor, you wouldn't have been worried, as you would have seen the temp was still normal .

Sorted mine out, the printed circuit on the dials had burnt out, might of been caused by the temp sensor! A new printed circuit it is then....

actually no,

there are 2 sensors, the blue ECT sensor that the ecu uses, and the seperate sender for the dash,

the rubber insulation goes fooken on them after time and heat and the centre post waggles about earthing out ont eh outside - hence the needle off tghe top of the scale, they are about 15Ł from from ford...

sender assy - temperature 6145143

(blue ect) sensor assy - water temperature 1639283
