what engine would these have?

pinto or DOHC?

G plate will have a DOHC engine - early ones had a webber carb, and the rest had webber efi

paul, but if its a G plate it could be manufactured pre-90 and registered late

Jim - the twincam engine was used from 1988 onwards - 1988 to early 1990 - carb engine, and then onwards was efi

the pinto engine did carry on being used in the 1.6 e-max lean-burn form

I always thought the 1.8 CVH in the Sierra was a pretty good motor. Torquey although it didnt rev that well. Never drove a 2.0 'Twinky' but the 1.8 certainly felt more lively than its quoted 90bhp
