The punishment in NO way fits the crime. The sex offender's list should ONLY have people on it who have committed SERIOUS crimes. What a fucking joke this country's justice system is - compare that with the guy that put the kid in a wheel-chair and then tell me they are of equal merit...

Common sense dictates where the line is, IMO he should NOT be on the sex offender's list for doing what he did - five weeks in prison is MORE than enough. If you cannot differentiate between a grope of a breast and a smack on the arse, then can you tell the difference between a poke with a finger and stab in the heart with a knife? The two are NOT the same (in case you didn't realise).

As I have said, if someone smacked Jen's arse, I would accept that justice had been served with a five week prison senstence. I would not in all good conscience expect or want them to go on sex offender's register. If they had groped her ample chest, then I know that would make me feel different to a smacked arse, so I can easily differentiate between the two and in my mind can draw a distinctive line.

I personally hope he wins his appeal, as IMO he should not be classed in the same vein as a rapist / child molester etc. Basically the law is saying there is no distinction between smacking someone on the arse and raping someone - I COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY DISAGREE .

 

Sorry but even if he thought "Yeah look at that, gonna give it a good slap!" it doesn't constitute a sex offence. Inappropriate? Sure. Sex offence? Not on your life.
