As above saw one around here yesterday and me and a mate was debaiting if it was genuine with it being on a B plate,

So is it or isn't it??? Did they make them on a B???, It was definately a cossie but dont know about a RS 500, cheers, Grant.

It wont even be a genuine cossie on a B plate, just a Replica that perhaps had a cossie engine.

if its on a personal plate then it might be.

But 3dr cosworth started in 1986 (D Plate)

And RS500 were all (E Plates) the 4 prototypes and i think even the 12 demo ones were.

But no RS500 or 3dr will be a B reg, if its an origanilly issued plate

as i said staffi, the 4 white prototypes and 12 demostators, might be, as im not 100% on the reg of those.

all the rest were E platers.

The prototypes were on D plates.

I even had a photo of a C plate three door in an old Fast Ford, again a prototype/promo vehicle.


The B plater was most likely a private plate.

Was it B 500 something by any chance ?

No mate just your average joe b registration plate not at all special looking tbh, Everything was rs 500 though so a good rep, cheers, Grant.

can change the engine mate, and it could just be someones initials on the plate also, was it an 8 injector set up on it mate and t4

not sure to be honest mate didnt pay that close attention under bonnet,

I just heard the almighty fookin chatter as he came up the road so i had a quick turn of the head as he was in halfords with the bonnet up

dont mean it ant a RS500
mine has a T34.63 why because of the driving factor
i do still have the a new T4 aswell but i wanted quick pick up not a 160MPH ban !!!

Going back to the PLATE mine will soon be on a A plate but was going to go on a B 500*** but that is on my xr4i just goes to show u the plate dont mean the year and one small thing on the map senor bracket is dif on the rs500 NOT KNOWEN TO MANY !!

ive seen 3dr,s on a C plate and a F plate

must e a rep 3dr on an f mate very rare on an e, defo not an f unless been made up from new shell at a later stage

would not have thought so mate as the 3dr did not have that bit of metal and they pretty much the same shell, so i would have thought that it doesnt make a diffrence mate

As above, on a B plate it wont have a cossie logbook.
