Got a Cupra TDI company barge at the mo. Not bad all round motor.

Basically a Golf/A3 and the 20VT lumps are good as long as the coilpacks have been sorted.

What year you going for?

I'm working for Seat as a mechanic, and I can tell you that you don't get really troubles on VW cars (Seat parts are taken directly from VW). You are talking probably about the "FR" edition which is really nice. Under the Cupra R version but that's pretty good. Turbo spins really early and you don't need more for a FWD car otherwise it is unpossible to drive (like the Cupra R).

Basically a nice car and you can make it looking really aggressive with lot of parts.

The first 30k in mine was all fine. Clutch started to slip at around 35k so waited till the 40k service to get it sorted. Two new clutches later all was fine again until the turbo decided it had had enough taking the engine with it (Hydralic lock). Five weeks later and I still havent got the car back

On this occassion the main dealer is perhaps at fault?

Not at liberty to say. Put it this way, was serviced by one in the Midlands and is now having an engine replacement at another.

Are you a Seat Tech?If so were do you work?

my mates got the cupra turbo with the 20v vw motor chipped and tuned to 205 bhp, i took it out for a test run and it was very good mate the turbo spins up well and it went well but cud of done with a bit of work on the suspension, just felt a tad wobbly at speed, i thought my 180\190 bhp s2 wud of just got the edge on a straight road..

Engines are great, they just eat airflow sensors and coilpacks - can get good power gains for little $$$. MPG is shocking though. Car looks great too.

Well what car did you got ? TDI one ? If so then yes, the turbos aren't reliables, but it also depend VERY MUCH of the use that you make of it. Also never heard of troubles with clutch. An old man destroyed one in just 100km but he was 80 years old, so try to be nicer with it and it would be fine !

I'm happy to answer the questions.
