Default Knowingly buying stolen parts....

Would you buy a part you knew was stolen and is a bargain as a result,or would you go pay a higher price for a cosha part?

Be Honest.

Problem with this pole is quite simple.

No one in their right mind will say yes as it is quite obvious they will get the shit ripped out of them.

I am quite sure that in the past I have probably bought somet that probably wasn't as straight as it should have been BUT without proper evidence the parts are Kosha how do you know?

For example I got a set of wheels off Chad, He got them off a car he broke- How do I or him for that matter know if they were stolen originaly or not?

there are ways of telling of course and if you stick by basic guidlines you can sleep with a quilt free mind.

As said, who's gonna admit to knowingly buying stolen parts

I bet a fair few people on here have though. 'If I don't buy it someone else will' etc etc

I wouldn't no!

Another valid reason for not doing it other than it's wrong in the first place is that if i'd bought some part that I knew had been robbed and someone found out and I had to give it back, you'd have no comeback on the guy and you'd be fucked twice, part would have to go and you'd lose your money!

Defo buy new mate!

Fact of life I'm afraid. Alot of people will say whey spend £150 on something when I can get the same thing for £50 if I turn a blind eye ? £100 is still £100 whatever way you look at it.

Right then, i am going to be the one that admits to it

10 years ago (My good time flys ) I knowing bought a stolen Pioneer head deck, amps, subs and speakers........................

Yes i know it is wrong but at the time i was young, had little or no respect for anything and anyone, all i wanted was a good stereo for my car as i had just started driving and i wanted it..

So there you go.........................

10 years on and in this time i have been the subject of theft from both my car (Head deck went.....and it was a new pioneer one ) and my works van where i lost a hell of a lot of tools and that lot came to around 6k worth

Am i bitter about it...................To be perfectly honest it was my own fault and i knew it may happen because.

1, Left the front on the stereo so was asking for trouble.

2, Should of took all the tools off the van at night, but other people in the construction trade will tell you that it isnt a 5 minute job to unload a van at night after work

10 years wiser and i have been offer LOADS of powertools that sell for easy £500- £1000 for anything between £50 to £200..........I WOULD NEVER EVER BUY TOOLS FROM ANYONE UNLESS I KNOW THEM AND I KNOW THEY ARE NOT STOLEN.....Its a trade thing-Unwritten roule

So thats me.................. At least i am honest

depends where they have come from tbh.....if somebody offers me some goods off the back of a lorry, from say a big supermarket chain or electrical wholesaler, then yeah...i'll have a bit of that.

but if i know they've come from joe public who has worked hard to earn the money to buy them, then no.

im same as tiff..........only shit loads more handsome and slimmer

have i bought knowingly stolen parts before yes
also like tiff ive also had stuff robbed from my car a few times
ive also been robbed on holiday, everything gone from the "safe", money, camera, passport, driving licence, mobile, tickets home
what ive gained buying nicked stuff cheap ive lost when my stuff got robbed
viscous circle
not totally out of pocket mind as i took the insurance company to the cleaners re the holiday burgulary
i would probably think twice now im a little wiser and older...than tiff on both counts this time

Would never buy, and believe me when I say that's fairly easy to have lots of things for peanuts where I live, but exactly for that reason, from really tender age I saw my parents get nicked and later myself got my car robbed/vandalized a couple of times so the only thing that comes to my mind when someone comes to sell me something I KNOW it's stolen is cut off both his hands so he can't do it again. F*cking bastards...

it's not just cars parts though is it,it's anything stolen.

people on here are not going to admit it and thats that.

9/10 people would buy things that are a bargain, even if stolen.

how many of you ask the seller of parts where they are from......not many!

we all know it's wrong but everyone likes bargains.

brand new plasma tv's,40 odd inch,in the box...£400.

hard to say no.

The important bit, or in my eyes anyway

As said sure almost everyone has had summit not quite 100% straight at some point , , even fitted a cd in a car for someone who said it wernt nicked, shame he didnt realise about the 10 discs in the changer tho but fair play he had me uninstall it and went back to the bloke and got a "refund"

So what your saying is aslong as it is stolen from a big company then its ok?

And before anyone starts gobbing off, yes i have and yes i would.

But stealing is stealing either which way you look at it.
And so is buying stolen goods.

tough one,....
if it was nicked off someone you knew, then you wouldnt buy,....
but how many people REALLY would pass up buy something very dear, for very cheap...

money makes the world go round, ....and getting things cheap makes it go even faster,....THAT is why people become theives,..there will always someone to buy,....

just been looking round, and thinking,...and i have never bought anything stolen,....t least im pretty sure i havent...

well il hold my hands up to it, i used to service my car and my m8's with parts from a well known motor factor, another friend just happend to be assistant manager, we would phone through with make and model, pop in with a £10 and walk out with plugs, leads, oil, filters, and any other parts required!

not saying if its right or rong, but if i still had the same contact, i would still take that route for getting parts, but as has been said b4, it is a company not a person, and it is a friend who is doing it,, so i have no doubts as to the source
