You weld plate on the back to make it fit closer to the back of the wheel/steering wheel boss. Easy enough to do if you're ok with a welder

I plan to modify mine with some steel bars running up and down either side so it cant be prised off the s/wheel, but will still spin (bars will be shaped around the steering wheel, not completely flat! been told this is one way of getting around the lock!

And also around the lock area, weld some steel so it cant be bent apart

Sure their could be something done about the bottom hinge?

Also, does anyone elses lock feel like it wouldnt take much to bend the bar or snap it off from the top if you hold the lock and pull it upwards when it's engaged?

someone got my mates off by removing the pin under the sticker on the front , the locking barrel just jumped out and released the arm
must have taken 30 secs .i put it back together in 2 mins with a new roll pin and it worked perfectly.
you can feel the pin hole through the sticker.. have had mine lightly welded over

Straight bar type ones are a waste of space. 60 seconds with a hacksaw on the steering wheel, pull it apart and hey presto its off!

Get a Disklok from Halfords if you want to get ripped off or most shows for £40.

I use a disclock... watched a programme with car theifs testing all different kinds, you have to remember that if somebody wants your car bad enough they'll get it, you just have to deter the best you can. The disclock took the longest time to remove and required the use of a power tool.

im sure thay are 45 plus vat in costco, and thats for the silver one...?

if they are that intent to taking it, it will be gone on a low loader surely, as spend and hour grinding and cutting the discloc off,

good cat 1, 24 hr proactive tracker and a disclock and double lock or deadlock if you can the doors and thats really as far as you can go.... other than that... its insured aint it? just leave a note on the steering wheel... "if you can read this, please make sure you set fire to me afterwards" cos who wants a ragged trashed fooked car back, not me

Thats basically the mod people talk about. You fill the area from those bars out to the edge of it with sheet metal.

Rich_w, Sheet metal I thought would be easier to cut through, was thinking along the lines of something thicker, and aslong as their positioned as close to the centre of the wheel their wont be any way of it being prized off, although I do see your point about covering it all, might use thicker bars at the end like in the picture and cover the rest in sheet metal so it's not accesible!

Does anyone have a problem with the bar at the top feeling a bit flimsy, like it wouldnt takemuch to pull it off?

I dont know if everybody is aware but you can buy three different sizes, if you buy the right size disc lock for your wheel it should be harder to prise off , thats my way of thinking anyway
