FAO Tropical Fish bods!!
I've had my tropical tank for a while now and have recently put some pieces of Bogwood in there. As advised by my local fish shop i let them soak for a few days, then put them in the tank. Since putting them in the tank the water discolours and turns a minging yellow colour! Any ideas how to get rid of the discolour?? I've done a half water change and it was ok for about a week or so, then went back to as it was!
Help!!
Chris

No foolproof way Chris, bogwood will stain the water for months, if not forever to some extent, but it does thin down as the months go on. The better option, whilst not much use to you after the event, is Mopani wood, this is dye free and doesnt leach at all, although it is about 50% more expensive again.
