Default Alps' Integra vs. My Focus RS

Ongoing debate here, would like some more opinions...
Alps Pacino, who will be along shortly, is convinced his Integra will torture my Focus RS in a straight line and round corners, i'm not so sure, although i'm not sure it won't either.
What do you lot think?

FRS spec: Std apart from Mongoose & decat and K&N ind. kit. And a different stereo.

Integra: Not sure...over to you Alps.

I never once said it would torture the FRS however i raced a standard 1 and pulled away form it once above 100mph.

I dont know what they handle like but i know mine handles very very well.

Mine has a decat exhaust and a mugen airbox so same mods as yours. The thing is if there identically the same speed in theory mine has won as its only a 1.8 without a turbo in my book would you agree with that o and im only 187bhp standard to your 220bhp????????

I used to rip a guys Integra R absolutely no problem in a shonky old tin pot. TBH always thought they were vastly over rated

I might be bringing my crx so thats out the window, the little blue beast that next year will be sporting a 1.6 turbo 300bhp motor and 850kg

Then i can show you lot what can be achieved with the same money as a stage3 cossie in the honda world

Vastly over rated compared to what?????????????????

People forget there only a 1.8 non turbo motor that aint that light. Compare 1 to a rs1800 for example and see how over rated it is then.

There not about straight line speed but built for track use in mind, you would have to drive 1 to understand why people rate them, they aint unbelievable but its the most FUN car i have owned and that includeds my 350bhp rwd saph

Compared to the Civic which did live up to the hype, the Integra always disappointed me. I drove one numerous times and it didn't make me want to rush out and buy it. Good car, but not exactly benchmark material is how I'd describe it. If you can beat a FRS then yes, it means the driver was not as good as you as it deffo should not be behind the Integra in any department. Your Cossie must have been well past it's sell by date

Aint ALL cossie past there sell by date, stu from msd said its 1 of the nicest 2wd's he has driven very perky apparently, so was not an old shit heap by any means.

Now i have driven a civic type-r and i found it boring to padded out and the vtec range wasnt big enough. Its down to driving style and you have to really realy push them and i mean 1st gear out of some corners etc to get the most out of them.

They were benchmark when they first came out and as i have said before are still classed as the best handling fwd car ever produced, you dont get much more bench mark than that

I'm not saying there the worlds greatest car but neither is any of the rs range, i removed the blinkers and realised that for an over all package off performance, handling, reliability and value retention your hard pushed to find better imo

Don't really understand the last paragraph mate, but theoretically there should be very little between them. Problem i've got is Ford build pretty crap engines cc/BHP in reality, and Honda build very good ones that need the tits revving off them (must be a bike/car crossover thing). Don't know what the weight of both cars is which could make a massive difference.

Not knocking the Teg's abilities or the Focus'. Just trying to get some opinions.
All a bit of banter mate.

I aint taking it to hart but as you said you raced a civic and was surprised, jacko with his 380bhp was surprised at my wee 1.8 and even if i dont beat you i can guarentee you will have respect for the integra and its 1.8 non turbo motor

I'm not going to be doing anything stupid Steve, far too old and responsible for that now. Plus i've already lost one car this year, have no intention of losing another.

I was surprised by the Civic mate, which is why I have my doubts about beating the Teg.

Top speed is easily over 140 at the moment, haven't explored it fully yet. We're just going to have to wait till we meet sometime fella, i'm past the point of going out to race people, sounds lame after posting this thread but i'm after opinions, got nothing to prove.

On that note, fancy a track day at Donny? I'm doing one on the 19th August, pre national day. Youth and Righthooker are supposed to be too. Ł135. Taking the saff but will have the FRS there too for a few laps.

The problem is we are never going to just come across each other by accident. 1 night on the 174 is perfect from the graystones roundabout to the first or second bridge cause you can if there is any plod at the rounabout and then off you go, with no way for them to get onto the 174 till the 3rd bridge

I aint no vin diesel race for slips type but i will step up for a chalange even if its up against something that everyone on here things i dont stand a chance against, the problem is if i loose its expected if you loose how do you post the result up on here a ford site

I'd say race around a track like cadwell park or something similar where out and out power isnt as important as handling and driver skill.

12's in a CRX?? with or without turbo/supercharger? I'm guessing about 350hp is all you really need in a car the size of a shoe box. LOL.

Erm...but the point we are trying to prove here is which is the faster car, not who has the biggest nads, which is me, obviously.

Thats why I suggested Donny, its a very fast track whereas Cadwell or Knockhill are very "technical" if you like.

If you purely want to know who has the "fastest" car drag race... if you want to know who has the best car, drive round a circuit that has a good blend of both handling and speed. It needs to be quite tight and twist as you'd never catch each other up if you made a mistake on a corner or something on a fast track.
