Bollocks, boost threshold is determined engine size, cams and turbo size. Compression only affects the way it drives off boost.

This is not true. It´s impossible to predict comp ratio by measuring when it hits boost.

3700 is very high. When you say "comes on" do you mean full boost or just beginning to produce boost?

3700 is very late for a cossie to be making boost by, unless its a T4?

no its a t34, its got bd10's and vernier pulleys, though theyve only been set up by eye

tbh since the cams have been fitted its got a much shorter 1st and 2nd gear but 3rd lasts forever ( goes to 135 in 3rd now )

I think it´s late anyway? My turbo is bigger than the cossie T4 ( What´s the vital measurements on the rs500 T4? ) and produce boost from appox. 2k. Very slow increase tho before getting past 3k.

Just an actuator adjustment needed maybe?

With a t34 you should be seeing full boost before 3700.

I'm sorry, but it is impossible for cams to change gear ratios .

Your car would need to be hitting 9320rpm to do 135mph in third with 215/40 x 17s . You're just a girl, so I'll let you off though .

A good T34, in 4th, can exceed 30psi by 3500rpm. Should be into teh mid-high 20s by 3200.

Oh dear

Compression ratio has as good as no effect on what rpm the car boosts, despite popular rumour.

ROFL@shorter and longer gears now cams have been fitted tho

Why would you need 700bhp to do 135 in 3rd gear, surely its down to gear ratios and not power

Forgot to add the winks. . An old mans attempt at a joke taken tooooooooo seriously. The young lady thinks its true & thats good enough for me. 9k in 3rd on 17" or 8.3k on 19" with low diff, them Hydraulic lifters are doing well .

....to answer the question i'd say you was around 7.2-1 comp on the wrong map...probably an 8-1 map!

...lo comp can affect when the car boosts yes if the map is not set up for the actual compression ratio.

Yes, it usually improves teh spool up by adding heat to the exhaust gas...

Lol, my GTR lump will be a horrendous tractor with no low down power according to them as its low comp...

And thats coming from people running 280 duration cams, no power below 5k, and engines with about twice the BHP compared to torque

contrary to popular belief, i do actually know a bit about cars

and im not arguing about the speed in 3rd, i know my speedo is also probably a mile out but thats what it reads hitting the limiter in 3rd

2100-2200 RPM.. t3 peaking at 18-19 psi.

noticable that it runs out of puff towards the end 3rd gear though.

Hey, if you dont ask you will never find out. I for one certainly never look down on anyone for asking a question, in fcat, i respect them more for it. But i do look down on people who cant be arsed to ask and then go ahead and make an arse of something because they think they know best.
