Farewell to a legend
Probably already heard but alan Shearer has had it confirmed that he will not be able to recover this season from the injury he suffered against sunderland Hence that was his last game and has retired.
One of the greatest English strikers of all time, I'm not a fan of any of the clubs that he's played for, but when its a player of this caliber you can only stand back and be proud he was one of ours
One of the best ambassadors for the game as well and a true gent, not big headed in the slightest, cant remember him ever taking credit for the teams win in any of his interview's, even when he was the only goal scorer it was always a "team effort" proper modest and very talented bloke who's had an amazing career, even if it didnt provide much silverware, he did what he wanted and played for his beloved Newcastle United rather than go trophy hunting with Man U
I wish him the best of luck with whatever he does from now on

Just sums up the only slight downside to his career really IMO, just a bit unlucky, alot less talented players have more to show in shorter careers than his, which is a shame, as its always the decent, talented blokes who dont have the luck
