Him & chris AM sport fiesta cossie were in the mill street motors championship the first race was at mallory park a a month ago
andy had a incedent with a fiesta chris(amsport fiesta came second & stewart whyte came first. After the race Malcom wise & Chris rainer put a pettition up & got the fiesta & the focus banned because they never rolled of the production line as a 4x4 car.A pure case of sour grapes because they got their ass kicked & they have been front runners for years.
So andy n chris had to build two escort cossies to keep in the championship & they made the next race at snetterton..
So the focus got stripped as did the fiesta & all that hard work building the cars for nothing Hence the focus on ebay

Pity that, really hoped that the Focus would be back out at some point(along with the Fiesta)
Shame that both these cars won't be able to compete again this season due to a couple of right knobs that spat the dummy due to the fact that they both got totally smoked at Mallory

ford saloon car championship regulations. FROM 2001 - present.
This is why the focus cannot race.

ENGINE - CLASS A, B, C
5.7.1.1. Engine block is free and may be fitted in the same configuration as the original model
(i.e. transverse/ in-line etc.) or as the current body model where it is.

ENGINE WRONG WAY ROUND COMPARED TO STANDARD FOCUS..

CLASS F.
Any saloon car entered by or for or on behalf of or in connection with the Ford Motor
Company or any Ford Dealer, in any capacity. This class shall conform to all safety and
FIA regulations governing saloon cars.
NOT BEING RACED ON BEHALF OF FORD MOTOR COMPANY. OR FORD DEALER.

ONLY REGULATION CHANGE AFTER MALLORY WAS CLASS F DROPPED.

Did not race mallory but definitely do not agree with petition. Wise dosent like being made to look silly.

This is why the focus cannot race--we know why the cars arent allowed but it was the point they let them race at mallory then after they knob ends with that pettition things went tits up if they never got punnished the pettition would never have happend....

Without wishing to start a brawl...

Surely when you go racing you get the regs out and read them and read them again, and then just for good measure, you read them again.

You then build your car.

If you build a car thats outside the regs... as the Focus clearly was, then someone is bound to create about it....

I guess the phrase 'May' should be 'Must'.....

Fair enough Neilm but what advantage did the focus and fiesta have???
Focus probably had none over the escort its in now and the fiesta may have been a slight bit lighter then its escort shell....

Two guys dared to be a bit different and bring some stunning, well prepared cars which it has been proven brought more spectators to the championship....

Clearly the rules didnt really matter and all that did was the petition signers werent happy that some new, much needed blood who are far more talented than themsleves came into the series and raised the game.....

Neil, my reading of this is that they did read the rule book and they built there cars to class F spec..

I did think that after I wrote it Steve but I think it still reads the way I read it the first time round.

Racing regs are just a pain in the dong to be honest, its the same in every class.

A lot of my customers who race in the classic formulas are always getting pulled up for little things and a lot of the time its the scrutineer on the day and their opinion.

I once had to go through all my old archive of Anglia pics looking for one running in the 60's with a strut brace for one customer as he'd been told he couldnt run it

I know another chap who raced in the Westfield challenge thing and it used to be Weber carbs/Weber management, that was it.

But a well known engine builder complained / appealled, now management is free.

But something as fundamental as the orientation of an engine is an obvious flout of the rules not a mis-interpretation.

Plus all the other guys in the series have built their cars to the regs so it is an unfair advantage.
