Hi All,

I am a newbie and I am after some opinions on ML Developments.
I am about to but an Orion with an RST engine they built, but can't seem to get hold of them to get some history. I am not local to them (kent based) and I hadn't heard of them before. Any info apreciated!

Never heard of them either, but up here in pre-historic scotland, we're only just getting TV and telephones......

Ah, had started to form that opinion. They were based in Cannock I believe.
Am near Swanley on the A20....

 

Matt closed the company after a few problems (staff related?)
M.L. got a good name at one point, but unfortunally he had a few people mess
him around & cost him a lot of money & face.

i got talking to Matt about my missis's FRST, & at the time he was the only person i could find who was willing to give me (free) advise & explain things to me, thus
saving me a lot of time & frustration.
Any work i have had done by him has been 100%, & when selling things he is happy to make a small profit, not out there to rip you off.
There has been some bad things said about him, & i'm sure all the retards will bombard this post, but when ever i deal with Matt he is one of the most helpful people around

 

oh, & about the orion, efi turbo if i remember rightly, low comp, ported head?
made about 180bhp at low boost (10-12 psi)
quite a solid shell aswell.

I belive Matt is sorting the last of the M.L. issues & then starting a new venture,
but this time with no hanger oners.

If i speak to him i will find out some more info on the orion.

yeh, Matt is sound. Only know him through a mate, but very friendly. And yes, he was based in Cannock

 

ML was bassed at canock and before he was messed around the service that he offered was seccond to none, it slipped abit when he started to get messed arround (which im not suppriesd) but he has allways helped me and got things sorted. He stayed at the yard one saterday so i could go and buy an ECU for a fiesta turbo one eve even tho he had to go out for a meal, then gave a full guided tour of the workshop etc and got chatting about alot of things even tho he had to go out!

The reputation he had with ML was second to none tho! and hopefully he should get it back with his new company! i can honestly say that he should do very well as his prices are by far less than alot of the bigger names!

he is a top bloke, bit hard to get hold of when busy, but there are a few engines that have been built by him on here (andykam is one i know of) and they are very stong engines! one lad off FT used to thrape his everywhere at like 20psi and it held it all day long!

Matt is still on here with the username ML, email him and ask for info on the engine, im sure he would be pleased to help!

Been quoted 170bhp @ 9psi. Red with illusion bumpers...

i've had many dealings with matt and he is a sound bloke, never heard a bad word said about him

haven't seen him since just before he went on honeymoon but i know he was busy.

Only had one business deal with Matt and was very impressed by the level of service

 

Just got back from meeting matt.

Needed a disklok urgently as I've just bought a s2, and unfortuunately he was at the airport picking some relatives up.

Said he would drop off the M6 and meet me with a disklok by his place.

SUPER PRICE as well

Totally out his way and a good prompt service.

Had a good chat about life and things and although i've only met him a handful of times, he seems like a good genuine bloke!!



Now, Matt, can I have that stage 3 head for typing all this!!

 

thats about the power figure i remember, speak to Matt, i will pm you his number if you need it. he will tell you all need to know.

Most, if not all of Matt's work is real quality,,,,,, but you always get the pisstakers, (i'm surprised they havn't said their bit yet) Matt got a slagging off on here a couple of weeks ago for apparently not building someones engine properly, they didn't ring him & explain the problem,
just coated him off to everyone.
He is still waiting for them to return the engine for inspection, then i'm sure he will put it right. (if it is the engine that he built!)

 

Which Orion is it? I remember of a red one he built.. very nice and a good conversion

was chatting to them at ford fair too.
they have had some bad press on here recently that they were explaining to me.
never had any trouble with them and allways a good price on parts.
as allready said theyve got a new venture in the pipe line that we might see at donny.

I've never met Matt or had any dealing with him but reading these posts brought a little tear of pride to my eye and I think we should all have a group hug with Matt in the middle.

Matt is a Top Bloke

Ive bought several parts from him and he has always gone out of his way to help.

Example:
Needed a new fuel pump, spoke to Matt and told him i needed it before the weekend (Thursday), the next day matt was out in his car delivering stuff himself and drove about 50 miles to meet me and drop off the Fuel Pump.
He didn't have a Standard one so sold me a Brand New Grp A one for the same price

Ive not come across many people like Matt in business's before who go out of there way so much to help.

i meet Matt at ford fair on sunday and is a top bloke

i had waited for ages for some oil from him but several problems (out of his control) kind of gave me a bad feeling about the deal but now i have meet him and know of the problems he has had he is a genuine guy and i hope he gets back in business soon

p.s i have had parts from him before it started going wrong which came on time ect............

 

had a mongoose exhaust from matt and not only was it an excellent price he delivered it to birmingham as well
