Default Sensor damaged? Help wanted

Strange problem (or not):
Saff 2wd, stuttering while accelarating (mainly in 1st and 2nd gear), no problems at all while constantly driving. After much stuttering in 1st and 2nd gear, it won't start anymore. 10 minutes later it starts, and stutters on. Also when pressing the clutch paddle, the revs are jumping.

Any idea, maybe a bad sensor?

Is the phase sensor the same blue one?
(starting from cold isn't a problem by the way, starting from warm is)

IS it black smoke out the back? which is a sign the coolant temp may be faulty!

but from your problem I'd say the phase sensor(located in the distributor) wires have maybe corroded or it's not adjusted correctly also check the crank pulley sensor ISN'T dirty or even incorrectly adjusted(both the latter will cause ur rev counter to jump around)!

ps HAS THIS JUST STARTED TO HAPPEN?

It has just started to happen because the engine is put together last week The distributor wasn't used for about 16 months...

I don't see black smoke, although the fact that waiting 10 minutes makes it possible to start, makes it look like it has to do with temperature.

(order to check: blue temp sensor, clean crankshaft-pulley sensor, phase sensor in the distributor)

How about the throttle position sensor?

Diagnosis update

Just found out that the stuttering/problem isn't there at all when the engine's cold (about 1st 8miles or so).
Maybe more leads to a bad (blue) temp sensor...

may be a case of simply having the wrong spark plugs also OR just a case of having it set up correctly as it's a new engine etc!

Okay.. I understand..

What specific things would you be thinking of, when talking about "setting up" (yep, it is a new engine )

Clear, I'll take that in mind when I visit the engine builder this week.
Who's probably also gonna try if renewing the sensor(s) will help.

Thanks again mate

Problem solved today..

Cleaned/checked a few ground cables, changed the map sensor AND the most import thing: the crankshaft position sensor (BDP) should be 0.6mm from the "tooth" of the crankshaft pulley. It was somewhere around 4mm, so correcting this probably solved the problem..

Thanks all for the help.
